Let me explain, I was just watching the Today program and they were showing a clip of a young man being beat by another guy with a hammer and NOONE did anything to stop it! He was asleep in the subway and not bothering anyone, the guy that started beating him had his 6 YR OLD SON with him. What kind of example is he showing his son? Thank God he only suffered minor injuries, but he could have been killed. The young man that was being attacked dropped his cell phone and another guy that was watching this happen stole the phone. This happened in Philly and I am sure that it happens other places also. I just dont understand why NOONE tried to help this young man that did nothing to deserve this attack. Like the police commissiner said we are in a SAD state of affairs when NOONE will help some that is being attacked. All I can say is that I would have done something to help, even if it was just to call the police, alert the operator of the train or distract the guy that was beating the other one, something is all I could have done, with the hope that someone will help me if that was happening to me.

this happened to my sister years ago , she was at a camp and her husband was beating her up, everyone just watched and did nothing to help her

Why did someone do something, this is what kills me. I know that I couldnt just stand there and watch. I am so sorry that no one did anything to help her.

it was cauaght on the security camaras that are now on the subways in Philly and they just installed them the day before this happened.

the good thing is that they did make an arrest in this matter, neither one of them knew the other, it was just a random act of hatefullness!

It's been this way for a few years now. You see it on the news so much of all the BS in this world that people have got to the point that they don't care. think about it. When you hear someone getting shot. It really is no surprise and you flip the chanel. I blame the news for the way alot of people think. They glorified all the BS and people feed off of it and think this is how the world is...

your right, but I do have to say I dont turn the channel, It just breaks my heart that no one did anything to help this young man and that HE did this in front of his son. Makes me want to beat the crap out of him and let him see what it feels like to be attacked at random with no warning.

I am so glad that I don't have to worry about that with mine. My son has gotten into fights at school for standing up to bullies for other kids.

I understand, and this is why i'm going to court so my son dont have to deal with my ex's bs with her bf. Why push your issues on a kid and think it's ok. it's sad how some people have no clue in life.

I saw the video this morning as well, sickening. Sad as this may be, the most I would have done was call the police and/or security on the train (which I definitely would have done). But get involved physically, with someone so obviously insane and out of control, no. Sorry, maybe that makes me a terrible person but I wouldn't have.

I don't watch the news it depresses me, but one night it was on and my daughter was up playing and around here there was a young girl that went missing she was pregnant and her boyfriend (a cop) who lead many searches for her was the one who did it, he killed her infront of his other son who was around 1 and a half or so. They found the body not a mile from where I live.

Anyway the mother of the girl was on and she was crying and telling the story of how she was now raising the son. I couldn't hold it in and cried. My daughter asked why I was crying. I had to explain to her that the lady on TV was a mommy and she missed her baby, and if anything ever happened to her I would miss her the same way.

all I can think about in the story that you told was that little boy and what a screwed up life he is gonna lead... People wonder why I'm such a b*tch....I HATE PEOPLE... for the most part at least.

I hope that you get him! I think that is what has pissed me off so much, is he didnt even think about his son and what he was doing to him.
