don't mean to be insenstive but yes it was your fault... It honestly sounds like you had something else on your mind(besides pms, i don't buy that) and you took it on your customer...i would have fired you too. At work you HAVE to seperate your feelings from the work place(as hard as that is to do) this is the reason i don't date redheads(well natural ones anyway) |

I'm just being honest...i know you're looking for sympathy but I'm looking at it through the eyes of the boss as well. If i came out and seen one of my employees screaming at a customer(regardless of the reason) i would have fired them too... There is a level of professionalism that i'd expect my employees to have..that's all i'm saying whether they pissed you off or not. |

Go with getting fired!!! They will have to owe you 2 weeks severance pay!!!

I was fired today. FIRED! I was PMSing something bad today. One minute I would be crying the next I would be ready to tear somebody's head off. I was having VERY bad mood swings. But was able to control them for the most part around customers. Until this one lady came in. She could not decide what muffin she wanted. She would have me put one in the bag then decide that she did not want that one. She wanted a different one, not that one was not good enough she wanted the one infront of it. Then she wanted a coffee. Firsts asked for a small, the she was like no I better go for a large. So I start making it, and she was lake wait no it is too late for a large just give me a medium. I was just grring to myself at this point. Then i turned around and she snaps a picture of me wither f*cking camera. That is when I snapped. I was like WTF. Get that camera out of my face. You have no right taking pictures of me without my picture, and to her to get out of the store. Of course my boss comes out just as I was yelling and tells me to leave and not come back. My fault I know. F*CK really today I HATE being a woman! I would have went further ... But hey , you had enough and ya know, they kill me with always changing their minds! Then get mad and act like they have done nothin wrong to deserve such treatment! Well golly Gee lady , ya friggin got OLDtimers or what just friggin take what ya ask for and , lucky it wasn't me , I'da rammed the camera down her chops! NO WORRIES This means a better job is waitin for you! |

Whisper, don't take it lying down, they can't fire you like that unless in their employee manual they state it's their policy as well as your state laws which have to equal or exceed federal law.... You are setup pretty well for a lawsuit, especially if they are over 50 employees... The state matters too but 50 + employees automatically sets Federal into place.... I agree though, definitely check and see if the woman had to ask permission first. |

No i don't, as i stated earlier if one of my employees was yelling at a customer(regardless of the reason) i would have done the same thing. Whether she took your picture, called you a name, or anything else i would expect an employee to maintain a professional demeanor, and if they were unable to do that then i would have fired them as well...maybe i'm a$$hole but you can't have a decent reputation of service if one of your employees is yelling at a customer, it doesn't only effect that one customer it sets a tone for the place in general if there are other customers around. |

I hate to be the lone female on the other side of this but I agree with Isaac. I would never let my PMS make me emotionally unstable at work, well not if I wanted to keep my job anyway. I actually agree as well. Losing your cool and blaming PMS just doesn't cut it. I can understand being mad because someone took a picture without permission, but there are other ways to handle it... especially if you work with customers and have to remain professional towards them. |

I mean I don't know Canadian law but I do US and Cali... You cannot just fire someone.. If you live in an at will state then you fire them for not reason, if you give a reason then they sue you and you have to prove your reason... Proof takes paperwork and write-ups... But as I said, no clue about Canadian law... I can ask some people that I employ and see if they know... |
