Topic: Why did He bother?

Why do you suppose God made us...or make any of it?

Was He lonely...wanting companionship? (Wish He'd stop by for a beer & a chat now & then.) Did He wish only to have someone worship Him? (I do have a problem with that, if it is the case...) Was it for entertainment...like keeping a fish aquarium? Is He amused by our antics?
Entertained by the drama of life? (There is much of this life that I don't find entertaining and am annoyed that anyone might.)

This is a question I have mulled for over 35 years. I've asked it of various people involved in the clergy and have never heard an answer that rang true to me. (That may very well be my problem and not that of the answers I was given, I understand.) So,I am taking a risk by asking it here. I am truly only seeking to understand and am hoping not to offend, but to receive some non-judgemental, thoughtful responses from folks
here.

My spirtuality has been a constant but evolving part of my life. Composed of half-formed thoughts and beliefs from several religions, philosophies and laws of science, what I believe in my head & heart does not seem to fit the molds provided by any organized religious belief system. This is the one fundamental part of God's work that I have never been able to sort out for myself, and I have yet to find someone to help me understand.

In the overall scheme of things, what difference does it make?

I don't have any answers for you. I'm just so glad and grateful that I have a personal relationship with God and that I am beloved by Him.

You've got a point, Marley...just things I think I think. I guess it would help me sort out a few things...but maybe notohwell .

I dont suppose that he did make any of it.

Well, that certainly would eliminate the question, then...ohwell

personally I believe.

1..What angel has ever been called a son.

2 His son came in his fathers name and power

3 Elohim meaning Yahweh and his son Yahshua created the Heavens and the earth. actually recreated.

4 We are told those of us who inherit eternal life will be sons.

Yahweh keeps his promices.

5 We are also sons of Abraham

6 Abraham was promiced that his descendents would be as the stars of heaven.

7so at the end of the book the # of Sons given eternal life will be the number of the stars of heaven.

8 Yahwehs throne comes out of heavenand is so large it is a 1500 mile cube.

9 Yahweh's throne will be seen for a long ways through space. His Headquarters so to speak.

10 where are these billions of lights sons of Yahweh going to be?

11 Abrahams descendants remember were refered to at the stars of heaven.

12 know where do we find Yahweh not creating.

13 as sons of yahweh what will we do? I believe i can not prove but i do believe thier is a lot of evidence in the bible to support it.

we will through Yahweh's power be spread throughout the universe to create/transform dead planets into living planets alot like earth.

and the process from the beginning of the book will start all over again. With us doing for these worlds as Yahshua did for us. Blessings...Miles

I liked the movie "Contact" where they built this machine that took the rider to another world where she learned that humans were created, or engineered or or planted or whatever by a race of beings very much like us, human beings.

That would make sense with the Biblical verse that said "Let us make man in our image..."

These beings looked like us. There was more than just one of them.

So why?

Why not?

Spirits want to occupy bodies and experience all kinds of creation, joy and life. These spirits inhabit these bodies.

The continued goal is to make better and better bodies for spirits to inhabit in the material worlds.

Bodies that can feel love, pain, compassion, see, feel, hear, touch and experience reality.

The future goal is a human body that will heal faster, live longer and regrow severed limbs. They are working on that as we speak on some other planet. bigsmile

I honestly cannot imagine why an omnipotent god would want to create such comparatively insignificant things as humans.

I have considered the possibility that the whole universe is just intended as a "work of art" and individual human beings are really no more important to god than the microscopic particles of pigment used in making the paint.

I have also considered the possibility that we are, as cutelildevilsmom suggested, no more than an ant farm that god created to amuse himself by watching us scurry around and dig in the dirt.

This is something to think about. It fits with some of what I believe. I believe that we may in fact BE God...at least as a part of the whole - much as our various cells and organs are 'US', at least in part. Besides, I'd much rather be considered a work of art (who me???noway) than an ant farmlaugh

I don't think humans are insignificant. I think they are on the leading edge of creation itself and are creators in training. I think any spirit who choses to incarnate here in this earth game is a very brave soul indeed.

I believe that we were created to have an intimate, personal relationship with God....to love Him and to be loved by Him

I was thinking more in the physical sense than in the spiritual sense.

Although even in a spiritual sense, I don't think that humans on this planet are intrinsically superior to any beings anywhere else in the universe. And possibly even a little inferior on the average.

However, there are some who believe that this planet will be the origin of a spiritual breakthrough that will affect the entire universe. And I am more inclined to believe than disbelieve that.

I agree with your last paragraph. I mean, I am one of those who believe that statement of a spiritual breakthrough that will effect the entire universe, ~or at least the galaxy.

Although all creatures are basically equal in the sum total of all things, some are more spiritually evolved than others, specifically because of their current incarnation path. Humans are those creatures. I suspect they (humans) will ascend to a higher density in advance of the galaxy aliens who have been mistaken by them as Gods.

So what is your definition of God then?

In thinking of individuals like Hitler, Jefferey Dahmer, JimJones, Charles Manson, and I could fill a thread with the names - I wouls suggest that we fall "just a wee bit" short of the attributes of God. Or are just "some people" God. Like, the normal ones?

In your body, I don't imagine that every cell is perfect or that every bodily function works perfectly or that you don't have any parasites in your body or else you would be perfectly pure and you probably would not age, or ever get sick.

You are not perfect and neither is the body of the universe or God. That idea is just a fantasy.

So what is your definition of God then?

Interestingly enough, until actually reading that question in black-and-white, I realized that no one has ever asked me that exact question before. Consequently, I never really thought about how the word "god" fits into MY personal belief system. Of course I've often used it in speaking with others. But whenever I have it has always with the idea that I was using what I thought was THEIR definition. Privately, I have always simply dismissed it with a thought of "god doesn't exist". But the simple fact of the existence of the word itself, means that it must have SOME meaning to me, regardless of whatever it might mean to anyone else. So I immediately thought that it must mean something like "an imaginary being who is assumed to be ruling the universe." But that was STILL based almost completely on the views I had been given by others. So it forced me to REALLY examine my own thoughts on the matter.

That's what I love about this forum. As much divisivness and disagreement as there may be, once in a while there is a little gem that makes it all worthwhile.
