1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful. 2. Give me time to understand what you want of me. 3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being. 4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you. 5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me. 6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it. 7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you. 8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak. 9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old. 10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so. ~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them. Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs! |

Thank you. I was just thinking back on my pit, Becca. I loved her and so did my daughter, whom was only 2 at the time. We cried when we were forced to give her to a better home because of my stupid ex-husband who kept body slamming her for pooing on the carpet when he was too lazy to take her out.
I know she is happy now, she was sold to a wonderful person who had an acre of land for her to run and play in, no longer cooped into a tiny apartment. But she was so protective over me and Nicole. Wouldn't let the ex come anywhere us as long as she was awake. Damn! I miss Becca! She was gorgeous! Pure black, undocked, with a small white patch right on her collar bone. We used to get people staring and admiring her all the time. She loved and withstood Nicole's little 2 year old fists tugging at her ears and crawling all over her. Wow, I haven't thought about Becca like this in a long time. I really do miss her! |

This one makes me think of a wolf that I was blessed to be friends with. We were the best of friends for 17 years, until he ended up with a brain tumor. You know how this ends, he died in my arms. He loved everybody and everything (except cats). He was also loved by anyone that he came in contact with, especially kids.
I miss him, heres to you OD The Black lab that I am blessed to be friends with now is an awesome dog and friend (Bubba). He is young and hopefully we have many happy years to go. Once again, Thank you. It's a great reminder of what the pets humans mean to them. |

Must respond to a beautiful response I have a 7 yr old blue eyed female husky, a beagle type that was literally dumped in my lap by neglectful neighbors(have no idea anything about him except he is obviously alot happier now) and my prize. a 21 year old cat (yes 21) that is healthier and crankier than me- I know I just had him checked. Wouldn't trade them for anything.

I'm not even a 'pet person', and yet I find myself very moved by The Pet's Ten Commandments.
I guess it makes me think of my neighbor's dog, Rocky, half Pit and half Lab; he's my buddy - this dog loves me - but he's old and probably won't be around much longer. . . .I'll miss him.... |

A very sweet and tender read
Pets are awesome; and that unconditional love you just can't put a price on. Thanks for the reminder. |
