About 5 years ago I met this woman that was fantastic in every way.
It was only suppose to be a lunch date, but I ended up staying with her until 3 in the morning. We didn't have sex, just a kiss goodnight. We did go shopping (which I normally don't like) and she made it so fun I didn't care. She told me she couldn't see me for 2 weeks because she was going to have a minor operation and was preparing for it. Well anyway I called her 2 weeks later and her mother answered the phone and told me she died on the operating table due to complications with the anesthetist. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. Looking back I did fall in love with her on the first date.

Has anyone here fell in love (for real) on the first date?

I have. My ex hubby proposed on our first date. I accepted we were married for 17 years. I think sometimes your heart just knows. It doesn't take a lot of rhyme, reason, or time. It just "is"....

My condolances on your loss...flowerforyou

First, let me say I'm sorry for your loss. I have fallen in love on the first date, although I didn't realize it until recently, after knowing him for a pretty good while.

I did, once. And I still think about him most every day. I think that the ones like that are the most special because they touch us in ways like noone else.

I agree with Oldsage that this has also been going around as a scam so in a way I hope its true (I know that doesnt sound right but hope you know what I mean). You say you took her shopping? How much money did she have you spend on her? I'm very sorry for your loss if it is true but I've heard about this happening too....

I am sorry this has happened to you. Even if it was five years ago, the feelings are still there. There are things in this life that no one can figure out.

A similar thing happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. She met this incredible guy at a party, they immediately hit it off, they both knew it was something special. They spent many hours together that evening talking late into the early hours of the morning, just talking.
He promised to call her the next day to make plans; of course she never heard from him again and was pretty devastated thinking she had really misjudged their connection and his intentions.
A few days later she ran into the mutual friends from the party. They told her that he had been killed by a drunk driver that morning going home from the party.
The 'what ifs' almost drove her crazy.

Again, my sympathy to you.
