its easeir to throw a marriage away. then to take the time or make the effort to fix it.  Problem with that is it takes two to want to fix it and well in most cases one tries the other could care less and would rather put the blame anywhere but where it should be.

I say write your own vows
then you can say exactly what you want I always thought that till death do us part, was a bit on the morbid side if you must say it, I would use as both as you both shall live JMO |

The problem is that people change; or they turn out not to be who you thought they were; or for whatever reason you find yourself in a marriage with a person who makes your life miserable. Do you stay, just because you made a vow when you were too young and stupid to know better?
Life is too short for that, I say. You don't need to punish yourself until you die just because you made a mistake. |

I took my vows and said the words "Til death do us part"......but if I stayed married the death would have been mine. He was abusive and I was beginning to believe the things he was saying. It was only a matter of time before I would have tried to do something really stupid like committing suicide or be beaten to death by him.
I will say those words again because I would really like for the marriage to last that long. Jon's first one did. |

What happens when you have a marriage that is not working out, but only ONE person is willing to try and make it work? I was only married for 2 1/2 years when I finally realized that he didn't care at all about me, and only cared about how much money I made to by himself "things". It was never a marriage, I was a paycheck.
