I have noticed that some people will use "just being honest" as an excuse to say very hurtful things to other people. I have noticed it a lot here.

I have (had) a friend who totally SHREDDED me in the name of honesty. I mean, she called me every name in the book and said it was because I needed to hear it.
She kept going until I blocked her. Weird. |

Yuk! There is a way to speak one's truth without INTENTIONALLY causing harm... What the receiver does with it, is none of my business... I am not the keeper/protector of other's fragile egos...

People being honest about how they feel often rub people the wrong way. Especially if it flies in the face of something they are looking for justification or validation for. I have seen some be intentionally hurtful. I have seen many be catty and think they are sly and getting away with something. But most are just stating thier own opinions. And mean no harm at all. And this is of course my own version of being honest.....
