yes...toxic marriage...and also had a toxic friendship. marriage was abusive, emotionally/verbally and physically on occasion. friendship was very draining...a friend that was taking lots of medication, threatening suicide all of the time, would end up missing...her family and I had to speak with police a number of times...once I even had to take her into my custody.

I was in a toxic friendship once. I was her shoulder, her punching bag (not literally), her designated driver, her 3am contact to rant at when she was drunk, her drive across town whenever she needed anything, loan her my car to wreck, bail bondsman. Then the second week....

I had a toxic marriage but I got rid of that..............but what really hurts is that I had to end a friendship of 20 years because i found out my friend was not my friend but my competitor...........she completely thought our friendship was based on competition and it really sucked when i admitted it to myself............

I won I guess but I lost a sister that I thought I had...........its sad that the people we always think represent us and love us are the ones when given the opportunity they will stab in your back.........At least we all kicked the toxicity out the curb.............where they belong....... |
