During the last 5 years of my marriage I had two children back to back and two minor surgeries. Shortly after that I was diagnosed with Lupus and put on a lot of meds. I gained a lot of weight and was sick most of the time. In January of 2007 I went back to work and my husband became even more controlling and if I tried to lose any weight he accused me of running around on him. To make a long story short, since I left him I have lost 20 pounds and my Lupus is much milder. I want to lose the rest of this weight and just be healthier in general. My overall lifestyle (diet, exercise, happiness) effects my Lupus greatly. So, I thought I would post once a month on my progress (or lack thereof) here. It will give me some motivation knowing that I have to account for my progress.........as many of you here are brutally honest. laugh flowerforyou Hope this doesn't bore you to death....but it will help me.

Good work Ruth. I know all too well how the negativity and abusiveness of a husband can ruin your life and your health.

I am glad you are on the right path now. Congratulations and keep up the good work. flowers

Ruth, you are not bothering anyone at all. These are a good group of people and I'm sure you will find much support here. flowerforyou

Sorry your husband was not supportive of your health needs and am so glad you had the strength to move on. I know all too well how hard it is to become independent with health issues.

Keep up the good work! flowerforyou

Lupus can be a very trying disease that comes with a lot of hills to climb. Stress is one of the things one needs to avoid at all cost with this disease.

Seems you got rid of a big chunk of that now it should be all about you and your kids.

Keep up the good work Climb those Mountains and shout out as you make it over each hill.bigsmile

not going to challenge
I believe encouragement will work a lot better

I deal with health issues and my divorce was the best thing that happened to me.

The stress of dealing with an angry abusive man took a toil on my health, but I know that he was blocking a lot of blessings that are and still come my way.

Walk in the Spirit my friend, all will be well

Continue to be blessed by being a blessingflowers

As long as you are not stressing yourself over the extra weight you have and eating healthy, then I say good job.

Not all of us are meant to be bone skinny either so happiness with yourself inside of yourself will help whatever health condition you have.

I too have a health condition affected by life stressors. I have found that the condition reacts postively the more at peace within myself I am, this affects it more than me losing weight.

Good luck in all you do.
