You guys, I could REALLY use your help keepin me awake and alert! PLEASE! I am at my Aunts house and it SMELLs of Death!! No , I am not kidding when I say that. As most of you know I am Native, so we do things a bit different than most. Tomorrow we will hold a funeral, as we call it ... a Celebration of the Spirits New Life "Ki ywa tu" This will start at the first sight of morning. Which will be at midnight. It will last thru the night. So can Ya PLEASE help me?????? Thank you for those of you who wish to help. So, do we assume it is your aunt who has passed, or someone else is laying prostrate and without life where you are? my great great uncle

Wow, he got to live to a ripe old age!!! Well, my condolences to you and your family, and this too shall pass. I assume it's not just the incense, etc., but lots of older relations sitting around, maybe some ritual in all this???

I assume it's not just the incense, etc., but lots of older relations sitting around, maybe some ritual in all this??? Yeah, everyone will have a Tribal Dance thru the night .... AND YES ALOT OF OLD NATIVE TRADITIONS AND ALOT ALOT ALOT OF RITUALS! Which is good, but in a different way than most people would understand Thank you

not tryig to be rude..but have you ever noticed how old people develop this odd smell? like with all the lotions and crap they put on they are becoming embalmed... just thinking

I think sometimes very old people dont bath regularly. Its usually because it becomes harder for them to climb in an out of a shower and they worry about falling. Sometimes they bath like once a week or less. I know it sounds a little bit nasty but it happens in some cases.

oh hey how nifty. i have cherokee in me..i know absoultly othing about them tho..im sorry im kinda out of it and the more i type the more i think i need to just hush and go to sleep

Sometimes they bath like once a week or less. I know it sounds a little bit nasty but it happens in some cases. Not that other people don't , but We take care of our Elders, they took care of us, it is our OBLIGATION to care for them thru their Mature Years. He was given a bath daily. As I said we care for them as they cared for us.

Like very often in facility care homes, they might get a bath once a week because they have many to care for. I was speaking in general terms.
