Yesterday, here in Chicago, we had two low-lifes try to hold up a jewelry store with guns. Little did they know that the owner had his own. He shot them both. There is a possibility that he also shot one of his employees, and a guy on the street.

People. I implore you that if you have a gun, rifle, or shotgun, GO TO THE SHOOTING RANGE. I was a soldier for 9 years, and a cop for another 9 years, and I went and shot at LEAST twice a year just to qualify. As a cop, I went every month on my own to stay proficient. You OWN that bullet once it comes out of the barrel. If it hits an innocent, YOU are liable for whatever happens, up to, but not limited to PRISON time. Our Constitution allows us the Right to bear arms. Use that Right to cover your ass.

I agree. Nothing scarier than a person with a gun that doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

I've lived in the country for the last 15 years and have had to chase hunters on my property on more than one occasion. It's my property so if I don't hunt it a friend will.

People in my area have had stock shot and one even had a shot come through their kitchen window. It's not unusual to hear about the once a year hunter types shooting themselves or a buddy.

If you are going to hunt or own a gun please take a course and practice. Most places have facilities nearby where you can practice and or receive instruction.

Don't be an idiot!!

Not only that, but when I do Home Security presentations, I always stress the need to lock up your weapons if you are not at home. In a secure safe (meaning the safe itself is also bolted down). Many guns that fall into the hands of criminals are stolen in burglaries.
