Thanks bundled software included Nero 7.

wondering if I should just convert all avi files into vbo files (can be done overnight as it takes a while). Then I can go about burning my dvds?

suggestions?

There is no conversion needed using Nero. It converts automatically as long as you have the right codecs.

I see, but it takes a long time - a 2 hr fam video takes over 2 hrs to burn, first converts to vbo (takes the same amt of time as file) then burns.

I use a program called dvdFlick it's free. You can take several small videos and create a dvd with a menu.Nero can also do this
but thats around 80.00 us dollars. If you just want a quick dvd without the menu check out dvdauthor gui.You can also go to videohelp.com and click the tools button. There is a ton of programs on there to choose from allot of them are free.
