Topic: Opening Emails | |

Simply put, whats some things to throw into an opening email to someone you have never spoke with before?
I absolutely hate doing them, its like writing the objective part of a resume or something. While it probably shouldnt be quite "that" difficult, it is. I've never been good with openings to anything, and I do have a tendency to ramble on in emails. I blame forums and their "post length too short" errors. So, ideas? |

Well after reading someones profile... please always read the profiles... don't just look at pictures then email... it's annoying... Anyhow read the profile.. any questions that pop in your head or comments.. write that to them..
If it is genuinely coming from you then who cares what you put down.. Best of Luck talukas! |

I do read their profiles if they actually got something wrote in there. But I generally don't or can't think of extra questions to ask. I don't ask a lot of questions because I'm the type of person that learns how people are through time and interaction.
So I guess I'm trying to find a way to sound interesting without trying to learn everything I can about a person in a few emails. A better conversationalist maybe? |

Just be yourself and let your mind and hands work for you.

If you are looking for an opening- a simple "Hello" always works and then think about what you would say to someone you just met in person- are you tongue tied then?
I just treat emailing as talking to someone- ask them about where they live- what do they like to do for fun- comment on something that caught your eye when you read their profile. tell a goofy joke to break the ice- relax and let it flow- whats the worst thing that can happen? you get blocked!!! so what??!! Just have fun with it |

Erotic stories work very well

Your best bet is to find a question based on their profile. But, just a simple "hi, how are you?" works too. Don't stress about it. Just send out the email and be yourself.

Erotic stories work very well While I can agree, and see how that would definitely work, I think initial reaction would make me look a little more like http://mingle2.com/user/view/267402 this guy. |

I try to make my subjects stick out like a sore thumb. Even if it has nothing to do with the actual email. But I'm just weird like that.
