I've had some dreams with meanings...one came true. I had a dream about me chasing a white snake but a crazy person killed it. (White snake means money is coming my way...the crazy person represented an angel protecting me from money I was trying to get...obviously I was doing one of those phony Publisher Clearing House things in real life.) Had a dream about 9/11 before it happened. Also had a dream about an anaconda escaped in a neighborhood and the news was reporting on the snake at large. (Turns out there was actual talk about a strip club being made close by a neighborhood and people were protesting it.) Amazing what dreams can do.

I do, although I'm not good at interpreting their meaning.

Right after my divorce I started having these horrifying dreams about killing someone and dropping the body in a river. Scared the bejeezus outta me. But I confessed this dream to someone I could trust and she told me the body represented my marriage. I was basically disposing of the marriage and moving on with my life. Made perfect sense and I never had the dream again!

: blinks :

Now if it had been ME having that dream...people would have had me committed...lmao

laugh laugh Trust me, I was afraid to tell anyone! But that was 4 years ago, and I've never had it again, thankfully!!

My godson had a dream that metal was flying all around him. When he woke up his eye was hurting.
later that day my son called from the hospital to tell me he was having emergency surgery on his eye...the eye that had gotten hit by a flying piece of metal.

Like I stated before...I haven't had a dream that I remember in a long time. The thing is, I used to get " flashes " in my dreams that would show me events in my life that were yet to happen.

Just random, unimportant stuff.

Go figure. I couldn't manage to have a dream that would show me something important...lol

Yes I do believe your dreams have meaning. The key is trying to decipher the code between your subconscious and conscious mind. Some dreams are actually quite contrary.

Two of the main theories of why we dream.

Mental housekeeping; the theory that the dream is merely an attempt by the brain to process the events of the day, as well as to resolve any lingering frustrations and/or trauma from the day. This explains recurring dreams, which some believe are viewed upon by the dream mind as "unresolvable" conflicts, which is the reason they are reccurring.

Dreams as expressions of the subconscious; obviously the belief that the dream hides some meaning; this is rarely as obvious as it sounds, as the subconscious communicates in symbols, which explains why dreams appear to be so random.

A third theory, and one that I do not buy into is that dreams are the result of random emissions emanating during sleep from the brain stem. If that were true, how would you explain things like recurring dreams, recurring themes in dreams, and the fact that the human brain appears to need to dream?
