The only emails I get ( other than the ones from friends ) are the ones from the poor women who wound up with me on their list from Deb's Matchmaking Game thread....LMFAO

Alot of the time when i read profiles and, most likely if i like what i read ill send an email. Well alot of the time like most. There is no reply. Well, when i stop doing it for a while. Out of the blue i start getting all kinds of email from people i never met. Does this happen to you? it is different for girls. I get many emails and messages but they are in bulk and it makes me feel like I am a recieving some sort of form letter. Most of the times they all read the same and I am sad because I long for interesting and compelling. I rarely send out emails and have never accepted a "friend" because I do not like to use that term loosely. I do think this website can offer friendship and perhaps romance but it is seems that it may be slim pickings. Good luck!! |

Yes, it happens. I think it has to do with going thru the Mutual Matches... if someone finds a profile interesting, they may put out the "feelers."

When I first signed up, I sent out a few random unsolicited e-mails to locals -- mainly talking about things in their profiles, the area, and such -- and never got a reply. After I had been here for awhile, I started getting lots of e-mail from people who saw something I had written in the forums, or who wanted to argue about something in my profile, or whatever. I quit writing first e-mails ages ago. It does no good, and I do better by just writing stuff in the forums and waiting for people to react. It's not a perfect system -- in a perfect system, people would have the common courtesy to reply -- but it's probably as good as we're going to get. |

I can't seem to agree about the second part getting mail out of the blue. It's a good theory, I think you should explore it more. Do massive emails today, and see if you get responses next week. |
