Topic: I met a man who was perfect..... | |

well, almost perfect. I am Christian and he is Jewish. I asked him if he is still waiting for the Messiah. He said "still waiting". I could not, in good conscience continue talking with him. I chose not to meet him. I live in the year 2008. His religion is in the year 5,000+. I am too weak to attempt to convert him and I am sure that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. He says "Jesus is a prophet" to his people. We cannot reconcile. It's so sad. My question.....am I anti-semite? I do believe the Hebrews/Israelites/Jews must have the Temple of Jerusalem in their possesion before the 2nd coming of Christ will happen. That is my prayer. That the Jews will be in control of the Temple as soon as possible. Does this make sense to anyone else?

One thing the Bible does not due, it does not tell us what religion to be. If God does not tell us what religion to be far be it for me to do so.
He accepts us for who we are and as long as we believe, we should do the same. Don't you think? Point being is, as long as you are ok what difference does it make about who you like? |

I think it was foolish to allow religious beliefs to stand as a barrier to a wonderful life with a wonderful person. Whatever happened to respecting his beliefs and accepting that as it is. If you had even the intention to convert him that already indicates that you aren't in the right state of mind to be with someone that is different than you. And I have news for you... in 2008 we are all different.

I don't think a difference of opinion makes you anti-semitic.
I believe you have to treat all jewish people as if they were somehow all the same in ways other than their religious beliefs (stereotype or prejudice) or have some kind of hostility or negativity towards jews to be considered anti-semitic. You can choose to not date someone because of differences in your beliefs without it having broader implications. I actually don't really understand how some christians can have serious relationships with non-christians. I mean if you are a christian who believe non-christians go to hell how could you stand for your beloved to go to hell? Whew. Good thing I don't believe in hell!! |

Although you've already made your choice, I'm sad for you. Why limit your world to that extent as to cut off possibility? |

the bible says that Jesus is the Son of God amd H e is the Messiah..He came for all even the Jews...so if that guy doesn't believe that..then he's wrong

I am too weak to attempt to convert him If that was your plan I think you did the guy a big favor by not becoming involved with him. It's truly a shame when God gets in the way of love. Who woulda thunk it. |

i have to agree with iron on that, as long as you are happy with a person, what difference does their personal beleifs make? i don't think god intended religious beliefs to interfere with individual happiness.

I am too weak to attempt to convert him If that was your plan I think you did the guy a big favor by not becoming involved with him. It's truly a shame when God gets in the way of love. Who woulda thunk it. Glad you are so proud, Abra..... It was not my plan to "convert" him. All night after talking online and the phone...it kept going through my mind "no one goes to the Father, but through me." Not looking in my bible, so I don't know the chapter and verse. There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. Lord and Savior. The two doctrines cannot reconcile, unless, he chose to accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah that He is. He is still waiting for the Messiah. Very sad. Imho and faith. |

When people make choices that affect this life because they think it might have an affect on their next life, we can only pray that they really do have that next life. Otherwise they just tossed the baby out with the bath water. |
