is she bagged down pretty good, are her teats really big and heavy? they always bag down right before they whelp, so the milk is ready for the pups.

where ever she chooses her "nest" you might want to have blankets or towels spread out... she will paw them together how she wants them. calm & quiet will help her relax and if she chooses not to use them, don't worry about it, the main thing is u have to stop fretting, she can smell it and it will make her nervous too

i know im a little late to this, but just sit back and leave her alone. If she labors too long without pushing a puppy out, only then would i worry. you should be able to see the noses coming first with the front paws. 99% of the time there are no complications. best to just check on her from time to time and see that she clears the embryonic sac from their noses, otherwise they will suffocate. if she's licking them, she'll do this on her own. And no, she won't kill them if you touch or handle them, but is best to let them be for a while. Ok So Question.... Can a dog suck her pup back up in there? CUZ I KNOW I SAW SOMETHING EARLIER ..... BUT THEN I FREAKED INFRONT OF HER... Its okay she probally passed some discharge (mucas plug ) just wait it out

and don't freak when the placenta comes out and she eats it, it's an instinctive predator prevention reflex

Proud to even say I held a puppy while a family member used a kitchen straw to clear its airway. Quite amazing
