Topic: What do you think | |

We are forming an opinion and a plan of action, if we even need be, on a news snippet? How about this? We stop wanting to be the world's parent and only act when our help is both needed and requested? In the meantime we can watch what is going on so we are better informed rather than blurting out nonsensical solutions to a problem we know nothing about. Hmmmmmm? Just a thought. The US has 1000 Marines in Georgia. They have been training Georgia forces for some time now. The Pentagon and State Dept are very aware of all that has been going on in Georgia and what is happening now! Of course GWB is busy yucking it up with Putin, Misty May, and Kerry Walsh in Bejing right now! He doesnt want to be bothered by the happenings in a country he has pushed to become a NATO member. The very reason Russia has invaded Georgia. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/08/08/georgia.ossetia/index.html#cnnSTCVideo Once again it all boils down to Bush again, eh Glenn? So you are saying that we should get over there and kick some ass? Start a war? Yeee hawwwww! Let's suit up like Rambo and whoop some booty? I say we stay the heck out of it unless we are asked to help. I am amazed at how your emotions seem to guide your opinion rather than thinking something through, Glenn. You are way too intelligent to let emotions rule the day. You need a break? Come up here and we will go toss some bobbers and cast a few beers. You read my response in the other thread about what we can do! Bush should do more than yuck it up at the Olympics though. He should have ended his trip or at least went into immediate meetings with Putin who sat two seats away at the opening ceremonies. Why do you defend the idiot? His reactions to this are similar to his reactions during 9-11 when he sat reading books to children while our nation was attacked. His reactions are indefensible, and it's rather sad that you cant see what an incompetent President he is! Surely your eyes are open, maybe not! Is supporting an idiot intelligent in your mind? |

My supporting or not supporting him is irrelevant. It doesn't matter what he does Glenn, good or bad, you will find fault with it. I told you in a personal e-mail sometime back what I thought so you know that answer. Short of taking him out behind the barn and shooting him you will not be satisfied. I hope you can find some joy in your day pal! I gotta go build some custom cabinets for a customer. Oh joy! See ya later! |

This is a false presumption! Find something good! I'll agree with it, but dont expect me to believe it on blind faith. His lies have been way too many for that, and the harm they have done to America far too great! |

Both South Ossetia and Abkhazia have run their own affairs without international recognition since splitting from Georgia in the early 1990s and have built up ties with Moscow. Russia has granted its passports to most of their residents.
Hmmm. Looks like there were things unsettled from the split off of Georgia awhile back. Damn, blame Bush Sr. |

Zapchaser is right; the irony of Fanta is that he supports Obama, who's foreign policy is virtually no different than the current disaster.
Now back to Georgia; Maybe it would be better to leave Georgia to the wolves. My first instinct is to at least route for the Georgians, because they are only preserving their territorial integrity--southern Ossetia is not part of Russia. What's going on here is tantamount to the Kosovo debacle, only this time, Russia is on the wrong side. |

South Ossentia is a state of Georgia just as SC is a state of the US. I have warned about Bush restarting the Cold War for some time. Only the uninformed and blind to what is happening around the Globe couldnt have. Here's another, who as a former US Ambassador to the UN and in a position to be very informed, says about the Russian actions in Georgia. Watch it, listen to him, and then get informed yourself. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2008/08/08/dougherty.georgia.conflict.cnn Holbrooke blames Russia |
