The best old-school console was bar none the Super NES...

The compliment is subjective, as old-school consoles no longer hold an allure to me. Guess I'm too game-spoiled...Still, for it's time, the Super Nintendo was king.

Still waiting for the Super-Duper NES, which should have built-in rockets and fancy death rays in place of its controller ports.

Sure, 360 has design flaws, but gamewise, they simply have the best games out there...that reason in and of itself is why I continue to support Microsoft in its endeavor. True, I've had two consoles fry so far, but as long as they keep sending me new ones for free, I can handle waiting a few weeks between red rings for all the hours upon hours of enjoyment the 360 has given me.

ok if you take the timeline of the platforms and see that games like grand theft auto 3 didnt come out until 3 years after the relese of ps2...ps3 is by far better than the red ringer! process power, failure quotient, periphrials. media-both bluray and plug in devices...ive found both the usb and the memory card slots amazing for piracy! can you watch a downloaded movie on your xbox? umm im pretty sure no...name me one GREAT 360 exclusive! and ill shoot ya down

Dreamcast and Playstation 2 are my favorite cause i have every game for those systems!!!

I don't believe Kameo: Elements of Power was ever released for PS3, shoot me if I'm wrong. Overlord (I think) is just now getting released for PS3, a year after it arrived on 360. Even if you do assert that PS3 has more processing power (a very questionable assertion), the 360 has greater memory storage.

Splinter Cell V is a game that will be 360 exclusive. While not a game I'm interested in, I've no doubt there are millions of gamers who are. In case you missed it, Ubisoft has been quoted in a Finnish magazine as stating the limitations of the PS3 hardware are actually what prompted their decision. Obviously, Ubisoft is a highly-respected company more knowledgable than either of us, and I'm inclined to agree with them.

Lastly, I never understood the public's infatuation with game consoles that play music and through which you can play dvds, blu-rays, etc. To me, this seems like a trivial matter. The PS3 could play dvds, video tapes, cassette tapes, blu-ray, death ray, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't care. As for piracy...fine, if that's your thing. Some of us prefer to acquire our games legally.

I watch my downloaded movies on my computer, and don't require my console to play them.

ubisoft is ****...tomclancy and that franchise is horrid...he writes books...woo...books..not even graphic novels...cameo and overlord are both shat...and where are you getting your info...greater memory? 120gig max, ever hear of external hardrive? a muti tasker! like broadcasting to the ps3 from your comp and watching it on your tv...which is bigger...better sound...i like 5.1 but thats me...not to mention the fact that 7 out of the 8 core cells are utilized...i can upgrade when necessary, you will be buyin the nex gen again!

Ummm...as far as Ubisoft, Splinter Cell, Kameo, and Overlord, that is your hollow, one-sided and biased opinion. You wanted great xbox 360 exclusives, there they are. There were others I neglected to mention due to the late hour I was writing that, including Gears of War, Ninja Gaiden 2, Halo 3 and still others that are upcoming, such as Fable 2, Gears of War 2, and Halo Wars.

I humbly admit I'm not an expert on xbox 360 specs as opposed to those of the PS3. However, Ubisoft, as a respected game developer, doubtless know what they're talking about. The fact that you happen to dislike them does not change that in the slightest. All I know is that I have Assassin's Creed for the 360 and it looks beautiful. Assassin's Creed for the PS3 meanwhile looks like a pile of donkey feces in comparison.

crap crap and remakes of crap...there is no telemetry in any of those shooters(which is my fav genre) how is 1080 worse than 720? defend your misplaced devotion for xbox all you will. we will see who has thiers longer...ubisoft is in the red...and the only people that back them are gamespy...so get your facts straight, especially harware components if you are going to come hark at me...just wait until home comes out...then youll be beggin momma n daddy for ps3 money, not to mention they have to drop their prices to sell them! here in 2-3 months there is a 100$ cut off...hmm i wonder why?

So millions of gamers are wrong just because you happen to think they're crap when the fact is that, of the games I listed, all of the ones that came out had at the very least respectable sales. The ones that haven't come out are highly anticipated. But that doesn't matter because you hate them...so they're crap. Forgive me, I didn't realize we were just talking about first-person shooters.

If you base your purchase of games solely on how well the company is doing, you're missing out.

And I would sooner grow wings on my back and fly away then ever buy a PS3.

Xbox 360 is better than PS3. The quality of game selection alone tells the tale. Since there is no logical argument to be made of PS3's graphics being better than 360s, case closed.

When it's all said and done, it is the games that make the box.

Live with it, accept it, and your life will be more fulfilling.

i think that screaming fans are ****in morons. ive owned all systems available...i know from personal experiance xbox days are numbered...you have no facts to back your claim...nice bow out chump...come to the plate with your guns ready or dont come at all...if you wanna base the worth of a system on sales why has microsoft lost so much money on both of its consoles? look that one up!

It has nothing to do with "bowing out..." It has everything to do with moving on. Arguing with a fanboy who utterly disregards any evidence and attacks anyone whose opinion differs from his own in the slightest is akin to arguing with a brick wall. You may take your small victory. I'm sure you will get extreme satisfaction from it. By tomorrow afternoon, I've no doubt that you will be posting on your little PS3 message boards to all the other PS3 fanboys about how you "one-upped" the 360 owner. Both consoles have their merits and their pitfalls. Just like any other console out there. There is no "best" console IMO. At least on a PC you can just about play games from any of them.

But since HD-DVD is dead, I think M$ blew goats on that one. Could have just as easily gone the other way though. *shrug*

Yea...Ubisoft knows it...Ubisoft is out for money, have been for quite some time now. So they go for the more affordable system, assuming of course more people own the 360 then the PS3. Don't give them too much praise though, as most of Ubisofts games come out in a incomplete state (ala, EA) and suffer from lackluster audio gimmicks along with a few memory leaks that require immediate patching (ala, EA). If you want quality in a game designer you go with Rockstar or the likes of Eidos (although Eidos needs to get their hands on a good graphics engine, but the games always have a solid story and little to no need to patch).

Star Ocean, Exclusive for 360, big game, Also a new Tales game. Big pluses for 360, meanwhile PS3 took a hit with Final Fantasy coming to the 360.

As far as Ubi goes, I liked Assassins Creed, Devil May Cry 3, (my friend says No More Heroes is Awesome) Prince of Persia, Rainbow Six Vegas 2. But thats just me.
