That is true, PS3 took a big hit with FF going over to the 360...but I don't play video game systems to have 'exclusives' I play them because they work...and I still haven't recieved my bloody 360.

I buy systems because of games. I am going to buy a ps3 even though I have a 360 and wii. Why? Because there is games that I can only play on the PS3. My 360 has not given me any trouble. Maybe its because I dished out the cash for an elite. I heard they used better components but idk.

360 Elite is the system to have then the other white 360s!!!

PS3 all the way!

I can play Mame on my PS3 without modding it. That in itself owns.

PC is supreme.

Team Fortress 2 and Quake 3 for the win.

and for the older crowd, Tie Fighter, and Monkey Island, and Ultima.

And just for the people in here throwing spec around, a lot of devs have said the PS3 is very very powerful. Unfortunately, the amount of documentation for the PS3 is extremely low. About 6 pages actually. Compare that to the Xbox 360's 150 pages of what can and can't be done with the console and you have a pretty clear idea of which is easier to make games for.

Of course the way Sony does it, is they have you document what you were able to accomplish with the PS3.

So as time goes on you'll (hopefully) see better and better games on the PS3. However, Xbox has XNA, allowing people like you and me to attempt to make a small casual game, opening up game development to more than a large company.

It's very hard to have a game on both systems.
Xbox uses a specialized version of DirectX 9 (so porting your game from Windows or vice versa is no that difficult, since you are dealing with a Microsoft Application Programming interface), while the PS3 uses OpenGL. A better renderer in my opinion, but it doesn't help you take care of sound, input, etc.


Real quick I'll touch on the Ubisoft thing before I go so as to not start a flame war or some such thing.

Ubisoft has done some crazy things. Like attempting to port Unreal Engine 3 to the Wii (They're still trying. They're almost there) and successfully porting Unreal Engine 2 to the PSP (People said it couldn't be done). They also single handedly carved the realistic shooter niche. They took a shot in the dark publishing Ghost Recon and it took off. Terrible FPS when it came to true realism on the PC (I can't see my gun?!? WTF), but they attempted to create a market where their previously was none. Now that kind of agame is all the rage, and they churn out a Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, and Splinter Cell's more than EA Sports churns out Madden and NBA and other sports games.

ubisoft just carries mass produced games...there is a reason there are so many sequals. its cheap and has retarded high profit margins because people will buy any trype available. good games are three a year, in a good one at best. sometimes i wonder why i continue...then i realize im addicted

I like PC gaming, and I have a pretty damn nice pc, but I wouldn't say it beats console. PC is very limited as to what style of games you like. If you don't like FPS or MMO esc games (include games like diablo, NWN, and such they are not really mmos but have similar mechanics) then you don't have a lot of selection.

Thought they have TF 2 on 360s orange box.

If you want to complain about UBI living off series, what about Rockstar? I mean take away GTA and what do they really have? A company can live off a good series for a long time. Look at nintendo, Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, etc. There best sellers are still their old stuff. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Activision and the game Utopia was a great game in the early 80s

i got all 3 systems and very disappointed with both the wii and the ps3 as far as software goes. The 360 just seems to have the better exclusives and downable content for games such as grand theft auto right now. With some def amazing titles coming up such as gow 2 MS has a nice yr coming to them. Alot of the exclusive titles such as final fantasy, resident evil are now cross platform thats simply because sony doesn't want to pay to have titles for the ps3 alone.
