Ok. I will only say this once for I have little tolerance for lack of education in today's world were information is only a click away.
To address or refer to individuals that engage in same-sex relationships, please use the terms: lesbian, gay, gay male, transgendered, bisexual, homosexual, or same-sex. If you have any problems with this post, please address them with me first. Thanks! Tanya |

no problems, i don't agree with using derogatory words for gays/ lesbians or any other type of people as well, though i don't recall anyone using "gay" in a derogatroy sense... might i ask why you posted this?
(someone did say something i said was sort of queer though... in which case, i see your need for this post) |

Tanya If you have little tolerance for un-educated people...maybe you can direct others into writing the government and making them aware of the LACK of education in the school systems and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Tolerance for the un-educated starts with YOU and placing blame where it belongs. |

This is what prompted my thread. |

Unfortunately society is not able to readily accept such relationships, see centuries of teaching will do that. Though we are coming up on a more open generation then before, we still have a long road ahead for the acceptance to kick in...personally I have no problem with gay, bi, lesbian relationships...doesn't concern me and it is not my place to say anything on the matter, if it makes someone happy...is it really all that bad?

So Tanya would you agree that calling someone who is transgendered "it" is a derogatory term? Just curious, I was reemed out because I told someone that they were dehumanizing someone by calling them "it"... The proper term is to refer to them as the gender that they live by (regardless if they are post-op) so if they live as a women you refer to them as a women, she, her etc..... and vice versa for a man. |

I'm getting your point here Tanya. But, frankly don't really understand the need to reference ANYONE by their sexual preference atall.
I can't remember the last time someone referred to me as the Hetero girl. |

Tolerance for the un-educated starts with YOU and placing blame where it belongs. Everyone has access to a public school education, you do with it what you see fit, and if you are happy in your own ignorance, then so be it, but I think what Tanya is trying to express here is that it is the person's issue not society's issue that they are ignorant. |
