I awoke with no one at my side.
It’s not because of whom I’m inside.
It is not because I have not tried.
Even though I still have my pride.

I walk through this house alone.
My kids have moved and are grown.
They still call me on the phone.
Now they have lives of there own.

I have started to make new friends.
As time goes by we make amends.
Life has no guarantees when it ends.
At times it just depends.

At times it seems as if life has just begun.
I can now take the time to enjoy the sun.
Take the time to have some fun.
The trials of raising my kids are done.

I have nothing to hold me down.
I can run around.
Go to town.
Or sit and drink my Crown.

This life is now all mine.
I can go out when I want to and dine.
I’m learning to shine.
This life to me is just fine.

Keep it up girl. The more you write the more you will want to write. And

Thanks everyone, yeah SCG when they grow up and leave it does make it
lonely a tad but hey now its time for me to play. Just
