The adventures of Louie Archibald Taylor

So all was well in the Taylor householdse....then I noticed my possum Louie's toe was very swollen...upon closer investigation he had a string wrapped around his thumb and it was not a good situation.

I rushed him to the vet....which in itself is a task as there are not to many that take care of exotic critters like Louie....And my even worse nightmare, as Dr. Black was on vacation and not back for 11 days...So they could tell by the look in my eyes that this could not wait....they took Louie back which I told them I should go with them....as I would be the only one to keep him calm....I found Louie at a couple days old so by all accounts I am mom....They tried without me and sure enough it could not be done...I went back and after about a half an hour we were able to get the string off....

He might loose his thumb and this would make me very very sad....but were going to pray and hope that it heals and he will not loose it.......So everyone keep their fingers, toes and even eyes crossed....pray if your so inclined and I will let you know what happens in the next installment of...

I never thought I would be sending best wishes to a 'possum...but hey....a family member is a family member.

This is true....and he is a love bug.....he sleeps with me.....cuddles with me....I will put a pic up so you guys can see him.

It's looking really good so far....I was up every couple of hours cleaning and it looks so much better....thanks everyone for your support......I had him laying on my chest and 3:00 a.m. his rebel rousing time...and he looked at me like thanks mom and laid his lil head down and went to sleep.....warmed my lil heart.

More animals need owners and rescuers like you.....hope all turns out well. My friend just adopted and rescued two kittens yeserday. They are two black and he named then Amos and Andy. They are the cutest and they are fixed with shots.

aww thank you darling........A total purpose in life...Since I was little God has given me the gift to be the voice for the animals of this planet...First animal was an injured pelican I snuck home from the beach......got all better and released....the next was a weiner dog I found in someones ivy and he had no eyes..for real just fur where the eyes used to be.....He was a tough lil condger. I now rescue and rehabilitate feral domestic cats....and the wild variety......it warms my heart when I can rescue a mommy cougar and her cubs make them all better and release them into God's beautiful kingdom where they truly belong....

It's no coinsidence that all these creatures of the world find their way to me. Louie no exception....I love this little guy and his toe his healing daily....tough lil creatures possums are. And I love taking Louie into public and speaking on his behalf and why they are so good for this planet not just creatures to be tortured by dogs, and run over by cars....
