I dont understand why people give presidents so much ****. It takes a lot of balls to accept a position that makes you the fall guy for anything that happens to your country. The president really doesnt have much power alone. He can't really do anything without the other branches of government, which is why our founding fathers set up our institution the way it is. The sad truth is that people just feel they need someone to blame when things go wrong and the president is always the easiest to blame.

It's not like they dont know this when they're elected Tex.
It's nice to see Tex hasnt lost their loyalties to Texans though! |

Awww Fanta regardles whether the President was from Texas or from Ohio I would still feel the same way. Yeah they know the process of what happens.
Problem is most Americans forget there is more then just the President behind what choices are made. If they are so worried about it they need to be more in the process of who gets voted to the House and the Senate instead of just focusing in on President Elections. |

Im against all incumbants!
I dont care what party they represent. There are way too many who have spent their life in Washington looking out for their own interests and not ours! Bush is just a puppet head of a successful organized coalition of NeoCons. Your right they all need to go, but I dont feel sorry for the man in choose freely to accept the position of their figure head! |

If he couldn't take the heat he shouldn't have sat in the fire.
I heard Obama acknowledging he's aware of the heat that comes with running for President just this morning. He said he didn't expect it to get any cooler if he won and accepts that the Buck stops with the President. The President is supposed to be a leader, and that include choosing his cabinet and responsibility for their decisions! He should be a leader who can work across party lines and help Congress to reach compromises. He should be neutral in this leadership role and not stubbornly stick to his parties wishes! Supporting their wishes while forgetting he is all the peoples leader! |
|
|
|
Well I must agree with you on that they must be one that is able to lead and must be able to take the heat that comes along with it. One that is a puppet at the end of someone elses strings does leave a bad taste in ones mouth.
If Obama does succeed in winning he has his work cut out for him in more ways then one. |

Judging from the meetings he's having with people from different countries and here.
Judging from the issues they've been discussing in those meetings. Id say he's already getting a head-start on the job at hand. He has also, as we all realized, that the problems can not be solved by one or two Presidential terms. It will take one to reverse the thought processes in our Gov and the mentality of the American people moving in the right direction though. Right now the Congress does nothing but bicker along party lines, and the American people have lost hope. |
