Do you get them?

I drink a pot of coffee a day (dont worry I use whitening strips). Well Ive skipping my coffee to try to break my need for caffeine and now I have had HORRIBLE headaches since! They last all day...unless I have caffeine.

This happen to anyone else?

Will they ever go away? & If so...how long does it take?grumble

Yep. The worse the headaches are, the more you need to purge it from your system.

Ouch not good would speak to a doctor about it. Myself I drink coffee once in a while. But have never had headaches. Heard it is like withdraw but would ask don't sound good anyway it goes.

Happends to me, too, when I want to quit using it, it takes a looong day taking acetaminophen...stop caffeine definetely or have a soda! wish you the best anyway.

I have heard they can be pretty bad. I have never had them myself.

Have you considered cutting back a little slower? Maybe you could eliminate one cup a week. It would take longer, but you might be able to avoid the headaches.flowerforyou

yes it happens to me. try slowly weening yourself slowly off of caffiene. Half a pot for a couple of weeks. then only a couple of cups for a couple more weeks. Try not drinking any after that. If you get headaches after that they should be minor and eventually go away.

I quit smoking faster than this! Im just wondering how long this is going to last.

Its all my fault. Days that I couldnt drink my whole pot of coffee...Id buy Rockstar energy drinks, which was equal to a pot of coffee...caffeine wise...frustrated

I have had them in the past. For me it was Coke, not coffee.

I hear that they are like withdrawal symtoms, just like Kristi said. Instead of stopping it cold turkey why not try to mix de-caff with regular coffee increasing the decaff each day. It just might trick your body into thinking it is having the "real" stuff. Then you can cut that out faster if need be.flowerforyou

{{{Katie}}} flowers

I get them too when I don't drink cocacola.
They may take a few days to go away.
They can be pretty bad. Ask your doc,
to see if you can do something about the pain.
The only thing I can sugest is tylenol and rest
when they hit you. Drink water and cranberry juice to help flush your system too.
As with anything with caffiene in it, it is an
addiction and we have withdrawls from it.
Eatting chocolate may also help.

Just go at it at a slower pace instead cut back a little at a time. I cut my Dr.Peppers back from 5-7 a day to now I only have one and do not buy them to keep at home anymore. Instead I drink water, tea or juices. My kids thought I had flipped for I was a Dr.Pepper addict from way back.

Well I started getting addicted to those rockstar energy drinks...They used to be a treat, but I was seriously addicted to them! They are way worse than coffee, caffeine per oz they are triple the amount!

My neighbors were commenting to me that its not good to drink those all the time, which I knew...so I quit drinking them and went back to just coffee and it takes the whole pot to make my headache go away!

Argh. Im going to try water & cranberry juice.

yes, you have to do it gradually...try decaff for half your coffee intake...keep cutting back on the regular...I still am not ready to give up my drug of choice CAFFEINE! Good luck! drinker

Is that like imitrex? I have to be careful with drugs that effect my blood.

Don't take a drug to help you, most of them are a substitute for the caffine. Best thing to do is wean yourself off slowly.
