There are many kinds of HPV... I assume you're talking about Genital Warts... Just say no dude!!! Otherwise, most people have some form of HPV. They're warts... Yeah their unsightly, but mostly harmless.

I used to be a peer health ed counselor so I know my stuff...
condoms don't protect against HPV. It's a skin to skin transmitted std it depends on the strand. There are hundreds. Some cause warts, some can cause cancer, some have no symptoms at all, some just make women have abnormal papsmears... The noncancer or wart causing onces leave your system within 2 years.. so really it depends on the strand... |

Protection does not prevent the spread of HPV. Every person carries an inactive strain of the virus and many people carry an active strain but never show physical symptoms. Men can carry the virus, never show a physical symptom, test negative and still pass it on to a sexual partner who may or may not show physical symptoms. So don't advise people to simply "wear a condom" or "wrap it up".
To answer the question...I would have to make it clear that there would be no physical relationship. |

Umm...according to this....unless you simply aren't told..you aren't looking at physical contact with ANYONE...EVER....lol I mean....sheesh....even if he tests clean...it's still there right??? lol |

She started dating a guy who told her he had HPV, so we called the CDC and spoke with a nurse who explained exactly how contagious HPV is. I asked her to clarify that point exactly like 3 times in the hour we kept her on the phone getting answers to questions we have never had the nerve to ask anyone else. There aren't hundreds of strands of the virus, more like 30 something. Guardisil, the vaccine that has been distributed predominantly to those who haven't become sexually active yet, protects against 4 of those strands, the two that are most likely to cause cervical cancer and the two that are most prone to cause the display of physical symptoms. |
