I help my friend out at his tattoo shop.... Things didn't go well yesterday. This is my opinion and I want all of yours. I want to leave before our friendship goes away and he does what he did again and I hate him for it. I want to tell him our friendship means more to me than that tattoo shop, which it does. I'm afraid if I tell him this he'll get pissed at me. I'm also in a band with this guy. I want to stay his friend and keep the band together. I don't feel I should stay at the tattoo shop any longer.... What would you do????

Oh man thats a tough one.

If I were you I would just sit down and have a talk with him and try to resolve the situation without anybody leaving anything first. If you find it absolutely necessary to leave then tell him so.

express those feelings to him and no longer participate in tattoo shop.

if he gets mad, then he'll get over it eventually

What happened yesterday?

well, we had a talk yesterday and all he did was yell. I stayed calm and then he calmed down. The talk didn't go well but, I'm still his friend. I want to leave before I hate him....and then the band breaks up....

I'd say generally what you just said here. Yeah, he might get upset, especially if you'd be leaving him stuck with no help, but it will more than likely be a momentary thing. If he feels the same about your friendship, he'll be glad about your honesty and you should be able to work things out.

so leave...tattoo shops are the male version of beauty shops...lots of drama.

Start by asking him to read what your thoughts are & think about them over night before answering. Helps keep emotions under control.

well, I have an injury....and sometimes I need to lay down. I have been hurting a lot lately and I needed to lay down. One of the other guys told him I was laying down and he got all pissed off at me for it and says this isn't the place to lay down....even though he's told me to do it. Plus, he got pissed about other things that didn't mean anything and that were so TRIVIAL it wasn't a big deal. He gets like that. I DO NOT want to be the butt end of his aggressive behavior. This is why I want to leave before I hate him.....for good!!

If you feel the need to leave the tat shop to save a friendship,
than thats what you need to do.
Exsplain to him your thoughts.
A true friend will listen and understand.
He may be upset for awhile
but I am sure he will come around.

Sometimes hanging around someone "TOO MUCH" is not
allways a good thing.

Suzin...he has help...he has 3 other people helping him. I have known him longer than 2 of them. I don't want this friendship to end. He is important to me in my life and tends to give me good advice when I ask him. I won't be stranding him. His other helpers tend to open their mouth too much and get him pissed off. They are a couple of narks.... They kiss his ass when he's around and say bad things about him when he's gone. I didn't tell him this because I know to keep my mouth shut. I'm not going to be a nark like these two are.....won't do it

my oldest is part owner of a tat shop...I can't believe the bullsh*t that goes on there...

Take him for a coffee and flat out tell him your side, and ask him how he'd feel if he were in your position.
