That is a valid point, however do you have any male friends with which you never tried to get a relationship off the ground? Elements of both need exist for the right reaction to take effect.
This is not meant to say you are wrong, merely to point out that romance is like any other chemical reaction... the 'spark' the feelings and emotions, and the underlying interest all make for solid footing...
I have been in both altered states... friends without relationships, and incompatible relationships based on raw sexual attraction and those burn out...

Last I checked friendship was a relationship, just not a romantic one necesarily.

I've always tried to be friends first... when it has turned into a relationship, it's the guys that try to be romantic first

I prefer when they develop at the same time....chemistry is immediate & as friendship grows the relationship has a much better chance of surviving....but i do need both....

Does it really matter? One way or the other, something is bound to develop, whether it be friendship or relationship... Many people jump into a relationship without developing a solid friendship- sometimes it works and sometimes not. I think the potential is always there and isn't that what matters most?

Does a friendship come out of a relationship !!
Relationship come out of a friendship !!!

ponder that !!

I think it is both !!bigsmile

This dopey guy thought it was a friendship, blindly finding more until it was too late. I'd already been incensed...

You get off on pointing out the obvious, don't you?

i think the healthiest relationship is one based off friendship. i dont start dating some one and become their friend later ... i become friends with some one and maybe date them. its silly is what it is. but the way its worded is weird to me ... cause.... a friendship is a relationship. and there really are so many kinds of relationships. but lovers who were friends first stay friends.

peace be with you

If I understand your question correctly (and maybe I don't), you're asking if a friendship can result once a relationship has ended.

I think the answer is Yes - Maybe. It depends on how things were left when the relationship ended.

I've had relationships where I'm a friend of the woman but it took a long time for that to happen. Usually breakups aren't that happy and it takes some time for the wounds to heal.
