There's not really anything either of them can do -- the other will always find something to harp on.

Saw Chuck Hagel, a Republican on one of the morning political shows defend Obama's decision to cancel the visit. He also said he felt McCain's ad attacking Obama for the decision was wrong.

POOP! Premature posting...

I was going to add this as well.

McCain had an attack ad on this no matter what Obama did. If he did go I am sure there was an ad that would have accused him of using wounded troops as pawns.

The McCain ad that cracks me up is the one that blames Obama for high gas prices.

I read this. If this is the only complaint that he can come up with about Obama then Obama is doing good.

The hatemongering will get worse and the fearmongering will also get worse as that is the republican platform. Make people afraid of something because it is new, different, or whatever current fear they can stimulate, that will be the platform for the republican party.

People really need to LOOK and LISTEN to the fear they will use in the coming months because fear and hate are two very powerful emotions and we will get lead down the same evil path of the great burning shrub if we are not aware of this. Baby shrub used it very effectively.

HAHHAH Nice Howlandp

I'd still be a republican if the party hadn't abandoned all that was good. Small government, stay out of peoples private lives and support of states rights.

I'd still be a republican if the party hadn't embraced the religious right.

Honestly I think until this country breaks the two party system the citizens of this country are doomed.

Last I checked we sent Americans. American who signed up to do so. Didn't force anyone from any other country to go. Did not draft you to go. As our troops fight for your freedom and your protection from radical Islam just remember that it is because of them that we havent had more attacks since 9/11.

When you read how Obama said the Pentagon is why he cancelled his planned visit to see the wounded at Ramstein keep this article in mind!

Rice told embassies to limit aid for Obama, McCain

On the eve of Democrat Barack Obama's overseas tour, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told employees at U.S. embassies to provide only minimal help to visiting presidential candidates.

The orders went to all overseas posts and told government employees not to do anything that might show favoritism or amount to improper campaign activity. A spokesman said the State Department issued similar orders ahead of presumed Republican nominee John McCain's similar overseas tour four months ago, but limited the communication to embassies in countries the Republican planned to visit.

Obama traveled to Afghanistan and Iraq in his capacity as a member of Congress and was joined by Sens. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., and Jack Reed, D-R.I. Like his Afghanistan stop, his visit to Iraq had heavy security and limited media access. Visiting U.S. officials and lawmakers often invite reporters to cover their visits and some hold news conferences with leaders in Baghdad, but Obama has been shielded from the media.

Hmmm!!!

Seems to me I remember seeing McConfused every day with the press following him everywhere he walked around the green-Zone when he was in Iraq tooting Bush's horn.

This was just convenient for Rice to add his name at the end of the statement. Since hes not going to go back before Nov it doesn't affect him at all.

It also came one day after Maliki agreed with Obama's troop pull out plans!

A Vietnamese fisherman has claimed that then prisoner of war John McCain had oral sex with him in exchange for food, blankets and ‘hugs’ in the winter of 1968, the Vietnamese media reported today. Leung Ong Lhan, now 78, says that McCain and other prisoners ‘would have done just about anything to get the necessities of life and survive because of the desperate conditions that they had to endure. Experts say that compared to European prisoners of war, those held prisoner in Asian countries needed to go to greater lengths if they were to survive due to the value placed on life in Asia being ‘much less’.
