Last sunday on the homily, Father Luis told us this story which is supposed to be in the talmud:

One night Abraham saw on the road an old man who was walking around, then Abraham called the old man and invited him to stay at his house for supper.
When supper was served the old man started eating without giving thanks to God for supper, then Abraham asked the old man why he didn't say thanks to God before eating. The old man replied that there was no need to do so because he did not believe in God.
Abraham got mad and kicked the old man out of his house. That very night God appeared to Abraham in a dream and asked him where was the old man, so Abraham answered I kicked him out of my house because he didn't believe in You.
God told Abraham: "Ay, Ay Abraham I have been patient with that man for eighty years, and you couldn't be patient with him for not even one night."

How many times we so called "christians" are like Abraham in this episode? How many times we are not what God want us to be with our nonbelievers brothers and sisters?

PATIENTS............

God is the champion of patience, why can't we be a little bit more in God's image and likeness? why our damned human nature makes us judge and discriminate others when we have all the crap we have inside?

And then we pretend to earn Heaven just claiming we are "christians."

I'm not Christian but I totally agree TLW.

More people need to live it rather than preach it. flowerforyou

I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.

what you call crazy is not necesarily what everybody else call crazy.

The voice in his head was that of God.

We now call that a conscience.

Miguel,
if I said to you, wander around the desert for 40 years
Eat nothing but mind-altering hallucigens on a bush, then climb 2000 metres up a mountain (suffering altitude sickness on the way up) in 100 degree heat, when you get to the top you are going to see things that you will not understand (due to being a drug-crazed hippy)

Then come back down the mountain, and tell everyone you have spoken to god and been given rules that everyone must follow ...

Be honest ...

Who is going to believe you?

THAT is crazy

Belushi...While calling TLW to being honest, do you think that you aren't giving a completely accurate description of what the Bible says happened? In all truth, you are automatically ignoring an possibility of the supernatural, which makes your interpretation immediately questionable. Then you imply that the Israelites lived off of psychedelic plants exclusively...that wouldn't have killed Moses? He was 80 years old at the time, an 80 year old man could exclusively eat one type of plant and not die? How about everyone else? That's one heck of a plant if it has every nutrient that the human body needs and gets you high. I think before calling on someone else to be honest, it would be a good idea for you to present the record without the obvious distortions you have thrown in.

In God's name I would not believe you even if you were telling me is the middle of the day, and I'm seeing the sun upon me.

nice story TLW, now here is a true one i witnessed. a rabbi at the hospital brings his son in and needs to get him into ER he is having a terrible asthma attack and is barely able to draw breath.

The nurse gives him a clip board to fill out pertinent info on health insurance and as he takes the clipboard a doctor walks by and says to him they will get to his son as soon as they can, With that, the rabbi tosses the clipboard and takes the doctor by his jacket and throws him up against the wall and tells him to get his son in there NOW!! or he won't be alive to treat him later. The doctor calms him down enough to get out of his grasp terrified he takes the boy into the ER room and gets him under medical control.

now i had know this man for years and had never seen him act in this way or any way close to this. he reminds me of your words here and how you wish we could be more peaceful and loving and accepting. but the truth is that you have not been put into a life or death situation where a family member or child was on the verge of death and it was up to you to do something about it as i would say most here like you have not either. if I'm correct on this then you really don't know what you may do or be capable of till you are in such a situation as this or worse. how would you think you would handle this same scenario Miguel? do you have children? it makes a difference when you do. get back to me on this.

Tribo:

Ofcourse that situation would change the whole scenario. What I posted was not an extreme situation at all.
Ofcourse I would have a similar reaction in such a situation.
My point in the OP, is when people get upset, frustrated, and therefore, discriminatory agaisnt others when they don't share their own beliefs.
I think you did not get the point i wanted to state.

Abraham was crazy?

Abraham had spoken with Yahweh several times.

After the slaughter of the kings he went to give tithe to the King/Priest of Salem.

Who we know as Jerusalem.

Now this king whoever he really is was and is very high thought of by Yahweh as a obedient servant.

Yahshua says now we are under the Melchezidec Priesthood.

The same one Abraham was under.

The story of Abraham going to offer his son for sacrafice is quite unique.

We have been led to believe this was a child.

Isaac was around 40 years old.

Now for a 40 year old man to allow his father to lay him on a pile of wood as he was going to kill him also showed great respect and trust on Isaac's part.

Abraham believed Yahweh and it was accounted for him as Rightousness.

Do we believe Yahweh when that same priesthood that same spirit is what is suppose to be guiding us? Blessings..Miles

seems in the dream when "god spoke", he would have asked why "he" had been kicked out earlier that day, as since god be thankful for ALL, how can one say aloud they are thankful for each thing in one day, and why "god" can never be rocognized by a "sign" or actions..........
