I need extra storage for my computer files .... I have 10G of digital scrapbook materials on my computer now and it's starting to cause problems when I try to install new stuff . I have no idea what I need and was also wondering how easy acessing your files are once you move them over ?
I need something that doesn't cost toooo much . Any advice ?

if you have a pc, it's easy to just add another internal drive. If you have a laptop, having an external is just plug and play, and restart.

I have 8 hard drives on my pc, for a total of 1 1/2 Terabytes... That's 1,500 Gigs. 7 of them are internal, and one, the biggest one, is external.

Slickdeals.net always have good deals on hardware...check it daily...

I used some parts from there to build an approximately $2000 Pc for $500 or less.

Some other good sites are
Buy.com
NewEgg.com
Frys.com
ClubIT.com
TigerDirect.com

Those are the best to buy from & dont be afraid of OEM(open box) merchandise either

Hope this helps

The problem with large drives though is if you dont have it partitioned & part of the drive goes bad then you loose everything unless you take it to someone like the dumb asses like Geek Squad & pay out the ass

internal is definitly the way to go their much cheeper, tho if you share a lot of files with friends consider an external drive makes it easy to share files.

Well, when I started making this monster, mega storage was out of my $$$ range.. In March, I bought a 750GB for $125, and I still have no room...

Yea I would have to agree. just get a slave drive if you have a desktop. LOT easier and neater as well.

Thanks for the info guys ... I won't be able to order anything online since I don't have a credit card but hopefully I can find what I need locally .
