According to the Mayans the world will end 12-12-2012

If the Mayans were sooo smart and could predict the future then why were they tricked and enslaved by the Spanish, looted of there gold and culture destroyed especially when they outnumbered them 10 to 1. Sorry but Im calling HORSE-SHEET here

the Egyptians, 3000 years ago noticed that the sun would shine in a particular place on a particular day in the year.

So they built a temple. It overlooked a beautiful valley in the region of Aswan

Every year in the mid summer, the sun would rise and it would light up the temple and its intricate system of rooms so that central room would be lit, but only on one dy of the year (a la Indiana Jones)

Then in the 1960s someone decided to build the Aswan dam.

So they took measurements, and moved the temple, brick by brick, up the side of the valley so that it would not get destroyed when the valley flooded upon completion of the dam.

The dam gets completed in 1970 and they finish building this temple in time for the sun rise on the 21st August ... and lo! and behold it didnt happen.

However it did happen 24 hours later!!

So, the moral of the story is that 3000 years ago people knew things that they dont know now.

It may have been that they chose not to see it

They definitely had the numbers, but no real unity. The Mayans were little more than a few deviant metropolises and a ton of little stick and stone villages -- The Spaniards had guns...

My 3 wishes before 2012...

1. Finish college
2. Pay off college
3. Get really far away from the US
