Topic: Pre-marriage divorce aggrement? | |

Why bother with the pre nup??
Here's how it works anyway. Guy meets girl. Guy and girl " fall in love ". Guy and girl get married. Guy OR girl find the grass to be greener somewhere else. Girl or guy files for divorce. Girl gets EVERYTHING except for guy's underwear. Pretty simple actually. :-) |

alimony is the dumbest thing in the world. I don't care what you "got use to" when you were married. After a divorce, neither party should have to keep sending money to the other just because at one point they were married and they got "use to having money". Makes me sick. Obviously you have never put your spouse thru college which required working jobs and then got dumped after he finally started making the big bucks....... There is a very valid reason for alimony |

There is a very valid reason for alimony No, just have him repay all the schooling you paid for if even that. You offered it as a gift during the relationship. If there is a legal separation then no spouse should be responsible for the other. |

If you go into marriage with no faith hope or trust in the union it will fail period. The problem with our society is that people don't want to work for any damn thing, just want things to be. Relationships are work and you have to try not just get ready for the inevitable. Relationships are complicated enough. Marriage makes it even more so. |

My grandfather was a very wise man. When I was 6 he sat me down and gave me advice. He said "Sonny, lemme tell ya something. In a few years you're gonna be sexually active. And girls are gonna want to have sex with you. And I want ya to think about something. Right before you are about to have sex- right before you stick your penis in her vagina- STOP!!! And ponder this thought. Ask yourself at that moment 'Are you fully prepared to have your life completely and utterly destroyed by this person you are about to have sex with?' If the answer is yes- proceed to have sex. If the answer is no- by no means whatsoever do you put your penis in her!!! You get up and leave!" grandpa was a very wise man. I learned well from him.

Marriage. Gotta find someone to get married to first. That's 99% of the battle. I can't afford the wedding and I can't afford the divorce. Its a true balance.

Marriage. Yeah I put my trust into a relationship based on greed and envy. 6 grand for a wedding ring? Gimme a break.

My freinds have been telling me for years "You should really try marriage! Its great! You don't know what you're missing!" These are the same people (both men and women) who come over and cry on my shoulder, sleep on my couch, and drink all my good scotch when their marriage fails and their divorce is finalized.

You will not see me in divorce court saying "Thank you mistress ex wife, may I please have another!"

Marriage is an institution. So are most mental health facilities. I don't want to be institutionalized.

Pre nup? Why not! Gimme a double. With a beer chaser!

It is going into marriage planning for it to end. There is nothing to motivate people to work out their differences.
These days, forever means about three years. Won't do one. Ever. It's a defeatist attitude. |

Best of all if a pre-marriage divorce agreement were required in every state, a lot of lawyers would be looking for new jobs! It would save the lives of millions of lab rats. |

geeeeeeeeeeezus everyone cares so much about their money........that isnt love!!! Be in love with your money!!! If the spouse is not after the money then they would have no problem with a pre nub saying you split marital assets and each keep what you had before and no one pays alimony. I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it. |
