I'd probably ignore them - I'm not big on IM'ing with someone I haven't at least e-mailed back and forth with, but that's just me.
|
|
|

if I have emailed with them several times, and we get along, I accept their IM information...if not, I just don't add it to my list of friends.

first thought is scam and I ignore it.

Then I guess I would have to block them. |

Lets see, she said she was new to the site and looking for that one. I'm not into jumping into somthing with anyone that just wants to talk on IM. Whats wrong with a couple emails first to get a feel? |

well, were there any real conversations before she handed out her IM? yeah some are scams. but sometimes, people like to have a more convenient conversation online...and usually, instant messaging is the best way to go. i mean it doesn't hurt to see if she's real or if its just a scam. and if it was a scam, its all good...you can still tell them all your fantasies!!! just kidding, just ignore and proceed hunting for the P-E-R-F-E-C-T female.
cheers |

About emails, i thought i share this. When you send an email and you get a reply saying my name is such n such and i'm looking for my other half and then they say. Here is my yahoo messenger. This just happen to me. What is your first thoughts of this? And what action will you will take? You send an email and they send their yahoo address? Great go talk. If they offered it and I have not talked to them I would question it. I still may talk to see what's up. What's it hurt but taking some time. This is the internet it's not a downtown alleyway. Why are people so afraid of others online? I find it truly hilarious the "risks" people take with others in real life but when on the internet everything changes. People are inherently good for the most part. Yes there are some whacked people, but you can spot them on the forum and you can spot them on Yahoo. Block them, delete them, move on. It's not hard to do. |

I talked to a few who did that, but told them I would only talk to them on here, did not give out my personal information until I knew someone. Kept them going for a bit, but they got bored and moved on. Thought it was funny, the broken English, they claimed to have good jobs, making good money, had a kid or two at home, widowed, wanted to know how much I made (I didn't tell), but was funny, when I asked them how their wives died - they got silent, for maybe 10 minutes, each of them, guess they had to come up with a story, one came up with a plane crash story, don't remember the other one, but it was funny, they were giving me a line of BS and then I asked about the "wife" and silence - until he figured out his lie. Guess I am warped, I just played stupid and played along to see what they would say, was curious.
