Topic: Is It Me or Do People Rarely Use The "Instant Message" Featu | |
---|---|
It seems like most of the members on this website rarely use this feature, I've tried sending Instant Messages to other members but it seems like nobody ever responds to them.

I say, forum is way better than IM.

I shut mine off.
At the time, it sucked the phone battery dry nearly on contact. It's still off because it keeps refreshing and slows down my computer while I multi-task. |

I've met some nice people and had a few good conversations via IM . Also had some rather bizarre chats, too ...not nearly as welcome

I'm thinking "Predator" is not exactly an attractive word to women, especially with kids. But that's just me, what do I know. |

this IM feature here kicks the $#!T outta my cpu. Rarely use it and hardly anyone uses it to my knowledge.
Just out of curiosity, are you a Magician? You remind me of David Blaine and I do not know why. |

i've used them before, but i prefer the email feature much more.
that and i'm a work computer 99% of the time, and it doesnt work on it anyways |

I.M. Yeah. I had a few on here do that at the same time, crossed my answers and got totally distance from both. My error. I think they were upset that I wasn't only talking to them, not like we were even dating. Then I had one trying to get me to send money to help them out on after 5 min of conversation. |

I just had my first one, as I didn't know I had that feature, but I'll be shutting mine off if I can figure out how!

I generally get IM's from boys, which I never accept. I like to talk on IM's with people that I know.

at first, I thought the ims were an ad that would take me to another dating site where you had to pay.

I just had my first one, as I didn't know I had that feature, but I'll be shutting mine off if I can figure out how! If on Mingle2, click on My Account, look for "Settings",click on that, there is a 'Turn off instant messaging' feature I IM with a few folks. Works fine for me. I can always hit the "no" button when it pops up if I don't want to IM with that person. |

Thanks michiganman, I found the setting and chose to shut it off. I guess you're right, you could always just answer "no", but I wasn't sure what I was doing. After that IM, I definitely know some people are a little twisted, and have way too much time on their hands! Takes all kinds. Anyway, thanks again. I'm not too computer savvy, obviously!

I hadn't gotten one in a while and I thought it was a pop up ad too.
Mostly I forget it is there. Glad I could help. |

I hate the IM thing. You try to minimize it and as soon as the person says something it pops up over what you're trying to type. Or if you don't chat for 10 mins...it times out. (hello...I have kids...I can't sit at the comp hitting a button to keep it from timing out ) It's just a huuuge hassle and I curse the person who created it...I spit upon them...*ptew*
