My knees and chest are hurting like hell this week.I've taken alot aleve and stuff but it doesnt help. I had a wreck lil over a month ago, and i broke my sternum, dislocated my left knee(again) and fractured my right knee cap when i got thrown from the car.And yesterday at work i picked up a toolbox, and my chest made a loud pop noise, and now it feels like someone is squeezing my chest. Ive been icing everything and takin store bought pain meds, but it isnt really helping. Any suggestions on what i can do? Im willing to try anything to ease the pain.

Lorab is the best you are going to get, at best you can hope for 7.5/500 mg apap. If you get thse take 3-4 every 4 hours. When I blew out my back that worked very well.

if the doc isn't prescribing something... maybe there is a reason? Have you talked to a doctor and told them you are still in pain?

Talking about myself only : I usually take Tylenol NO. 2 or NO. 3 for strong pain . I need a doctor prescription to get it .

As someone who lives with a decent amount of pain from day to day:

Go to your local pharmacy and find a product called Biofreeze. It uses cold to numb pain. Works beautifully when something just won't stop hurting.

Start pacing yourself. You're healing right now and don't need to be straining yourself further.

most meds work differently on different people. To one they are weak and another a God send......

I think they are giving you the shaft at the hospital. With all those injuries how the hell can they say go home and take alieve? They know that **** dont work!

Go to your general practiciner. They are usually more understanding and ready to write you a script.

Good luck and sorry to hear you are isn so much pain.

In the realm of pain killers, they are on the lower level, if it kills your pain, thats good that you don't need anything stronger. When my pain flares up I need the mid range pain killers like Lortab, on the heaviest end is straight up morphine. Tylenol 2 or tylenol with codeine is weak compared to the others out there. With his problems the best he can hope for is Lortab with a heavy hydrocodone mix for a pain killer. I only know some of this stuff because of injuries in college and high school football and having surgeries. Basically I have one good joint left. My right knee, and eventually I just learned to live with the pain most of the time. So when it comes to pain killers, I have an idea of what I am talking about, not quite like a doctor or nurse, but enough from observations.
