Topic: if china and russia decide to merge | |
---|---|
The notion that Russia and China might merge out of their mutual hatred of the USA shows how totally you assume other nations live and die by what the USA does.
The USA is a YOUNG YOUNG YOUNG country. Russia is over 1000yrs old, China is one of the very first nations to ever exist. The first records of Chinese civilization stretches back about 4000 years - and it WAS Chinese NOT a forunner. What they are as nations is IN NO WAY BASED ON OR CONNECTED to us as a nation, which to them is an INFANT. In their time they have seen nations like us come and go, and it remains to be seen if we as a nation will exist in 100yrs. We have our own troubles. Who knows next time the South decides to cecede, the North may say a happy goodbye. California and the West Coast may grow tired of the interior West's backwards mentality and split and let Texas go its own way. All that is just as possible as Russia and China merging, and based far more on reality than your proposition. Second, Russia and China are culturally and ethnically VERY distinct. Your analogy regarding why disparate parties join together for a common cause is thus 100% absurd. The fact that for 20yrs or so they were close for political reasons does NOT change the fact that since Russia became a nation it was VERY different from China. The ONLY WAY they'd ever "merge" would be through total war waged by one side or the other. That is hardly a "merger" as you speak of. Now considering Russia has several thousand nukes, it's UNLIKELY China would EVER think of invading. Russia for its part has NO INTEREST in being absorbed and utterly disappearing by being swallowed by the "YELLOW MENACE." That is the still used term to describe the Chinese in Russia, a proper fear of their vastly superior #s easily overwhelmingly much smaller Russia. There are 9 Chinese for every 1 Russian, and 9 out of 10 Chinese are Han Chinese. The Chinese probably would LOVE to get hold of all of Siberia for its natural resources, but not at the cost of a full on nuclear attack that Russia would launch should China ever attempt to take it. No merger will ever occur. |

The Chinese probably would LOVE to get hold of all of Siberia for its natural resources, but not at the cost of a full on nuclear attack that Russia would launch should China ever attempt to take it. No merger will ever occur. thank you for your interesting response. you have mentioned a few topics that are interesting for discussion however i am going to focus on my question alone for now. i have thrown out the question to see the response only. whether or not my opinion counts, its nice to know that others have one. the ideologies share by russia and china are not really far off in the sense of a dictatorship style of governance and a total control of the people, the media, did i say the media? as well as more human rights violations committed more by such ideologies but they tend to deny it or hide behind it in the form of trade with eachother. basically, usa, being a democratic country can be a reason enough, sometime in the future to stamp out the power of the united states in favour of a dictatorship style governance and power and abosolute control. (the glorious days of old for some) and one way to achieve this might be to merge in some fashion to execute or terminate democracy -. the united states of america's political ideals, as you may know, is a champion in the fight for democracy (although their hands are not squeeky clean, but that again is another discussion) nevertheless a feasible threat to those who are against democractic ideals. |
