HI EVERYONE! In all honesty I have lived in an addiction and alcoholism for 16 years straight and personaly didn't care about anyone or anything, but me and what I wanted! Then I got into recovery and have learned something about these things called relationships. This might be common knowledge, but I am compelled to share. I get asked the question "What are you looking for?" I didn't know I had to be looking. I find that when "looking" that people are trying to fill a void. I don't know why people think meeting someone is going to fix them and their life? why? If you are not happy and your life isn't what you want, meeting someone isn't go to change that! Don't exspect that of other peaple, (for them to fix you)! When you do that: most likely you just became the person( you, yourself) would avoid. Clingy, needy, soficating and insecure.

Ok so you learned what codependency and cross addiction is too. I've been there too. Can't take care of others if you can't take care of yourself first I always say.

OMG, talk about an AHA moment for me. I mean, I'm happy with how my life is going right now, but I really never thought of it to that extent when asked that question. Thanks for the insight!
