For those of you who have quit smoking, what technique worked for you? (patches, gum, ect...)

I beleive that you cant quit until you are truly ready and you actually want to... and i think that i am at that point

Try fasting for three days. Water only. If you can do that, you can do pretty much anything.

I quit for 3 months on Wellbutrin since all my other attempts failed I was ready to try anything. Over the next three months I slowly started up again though. It all started with one little puff off a friends cigarette and then bumming one now and then and finally bought a pack...and withing 6 months I was up to a pack a day...more than I'd smoked before I tried to quit! noway

I already know that i have the will power to do it... I've had the will power to be a vegetarian for the past 8 years or so and running.. so it's not that im worried about... its the actual addiction... then again i wasnt addicted to meat

My doctor prescribed Chantix. I took it for 3 months and I will be a non-smoker for a year on September 22nd.

Chantix has an absolutely amazing success rate. This is what I will use but I live in a house full of smokers so it'll have to wait until I can convince someone here to quit with me.

If you have insurance your doc can have you attend some classes. Once you do that he can prescribe Chantix, it works if you go through the whole program.flowerforyou

The gum is awful! The patches work to curb the cravings, but it will be your willpower that will make you quit. And, know for sure that you will never be able to take a puff again. If you smoke one, you will need 20. We're nico-holics! Trust me, I know! Good luck! flowerforyou
