i'd accept it if i felt love for the person anything is worth it if it feels right

What if it were really serious, with marriage a mutual goal, but the other person would not marry you unless you joined the religion? Does that still qualify as worth it?
not worth it

I think about this a lot. A friend of mine did this. I know what love is like, so I can see how somebody would do it when basking in the good feeling. Somebody could be more accepting of ideas otherwise incongruent with their thoughts if they were flooded with euphoria. I thought about this for the first time recently, how that could happen. But when one converts for love then the reason they did it seems to quickly evaporate or start to be ignored, minimizing attention to the big picture or all the original information.

I believe in God but hell nah. I know a very beautiful girl who (strangely enough) is very interested in me. I am totally against all things she believes in as far as my bad habits go. I dunno what she sees in me but she wants to be with me and I can't because I do not want to hurt her and I would not go to church all the time. Nope, not for me. But strangely, if I had kids, I would like to take them to church to at least give them a chance to see what it is about. Then after a certain age, they can decide for themselves if it is for them or not.

they can decide for themselves if it is for them or not.

Sounds like a reasonable approach. If I had kids, I would rather, like anything else in life, have an approach of starting with nothing and searching for evidence of truth rather than the other way around, like Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller says in his This I Believe segment on NPR.

Well, I am a church goer and I have yet to have a man say to me "forget YOU" because of it. I'm a believer, I pray and I have great faith. To some MEN that is an enduring quality.
love love love love love love

surprised I agreed with you?huh

Never. My views would differ far too much from theirs for any type of relationship to work. I simply wouldn't be remotely attracted to someone like that.

Good only one thing is missing from the relastionship then. MUTUAL RESPECT!

How can they respect you if they don't respect your beliefs. For most people thats the basis of who they are. Changing who you are for a relastionship means losing yourself and is never worth it.

Or, it could be that the person just wants to appear that way. That has been my experience.
