Topic: is sixteen years older too big of an age difference | |

It's about the person, not the statistics. Would you turn someone down because they had the wrong shoe size?

i also have been gasped at! really about who you are - how you adjust to each other that counts. now go make yourselves astonishingly happy. what are you waiting for? don't let anything as insignificant as a few extra years stand in the way... |

If you get along, don't think of the diferences.
If you find love, don't think about the numbers. Loving well is learned behavior. It does not happen when you let fear get in the way. Ignore what anyone else says or thinks, me included. Live your own life. Enjoy your time with him and don't count the time in numbers. |

Do you want the same things?
Are you happy? These are the 2 questions that pretty much make or break a long term relastionship. Age means there is a greater chance that you want differnt things. He may want a family and to settle down, you may want to party. however i know plenty of girls that are ready to settle down at 18 and plenty of guys that never will. If you feel it will make you happy in the long run, then go for it. life is to short to pass up happiness for the sake of some number. |

exactly, 16 years? far too old. my mum and dad have one year difference and even that age difference causes upsets when trying to decide what was the best tv show of their time. mum was always a year ahead of him.

My last relationship lasted 8 years. She was 15 years older than me. It honestly did not make a bit of difference. Not one. We fell apart just as any other couple would.
Have fun and enjoy your life, whatever brings you happiness! |

If you like each other, no, dont worry about the age thing and most importantly, don't worry about everyones opinion of it, make yourself happy

My last boyfriend was 12 years my senior but we never felt an age difference. He was young looking and I assumed he was a few years older, but did not realize it was 12 til we were already well on our way. Age was never an issue, but looking back it is weird to think that I was in 1st grade when he was at college.
