is too old to become a father? I mean most of the people I went to school with have grown kids and I just feel as if I may have missed out:cry:

depends...
for me it would be too old to become a mother
i'm in better shape now then at 20something, however certain things still show my age--
not sure i could keep up the pace

Men have been known to procreate well into the 70's, it's just the matter of did you think/want to keep up with them while their young, and whup their butts when they need it as a teenager flowerforyou

I think you know when the time is right to have a child.
My friend is 58 and he has a son that is just now 5...I don't think its ever to late to have a child. When you give up doing something that you want to do, thats when you are to old!!
If you want a child and your mate is willing to have a baby this late in life...I say go for it!! I don't think you will regret it, having a baby is wonderful.
Good luck flowerforyou

My parents were 43 and 45 when they had me.... Not sure it was the best thing for them.... I was the only girl in 4 children, they youngest, and virtually an only child (brothers were 20,16, and 13 years older than me) My parents were VERY strict, part of it I'm sure was because they couldn't keep up... I was a hellion when I was a kid..go figure.laugh

I already have one of my own, 2 years old....I would like to have more....

But, I'm at the age now where a potential woman the same age as me may or may not be able to have more children.....plus, many of the younger ones have issues with me being older, have a child, or both...

If i meet a fantastic woman, and she has more of her own, like say, 3 of them, I could forget wanting more, and just love her children as my own....

We'd have 4 between us, and that's plenty....

i think 40 is a good age you 've already hopefully sowed all your wild oats ,, and want to settle down by now ,, i had two girls very young ,, and my third in my mid thirties and i think i was more of a mother to her than the other two ,, not that i wasnt a good mother to them all ,but i really think i was more settled and ready and mature with the last i felt more secure ,,, with the other two i felt we all grew up together ,, hope you can discepher this ..drinker drinker
