Unfortuately there is basically nothing to do for the chicken pox itself. There are some things that can be given to help with the itching though and most are going to knock her out but that might be a good thing if she is miserable. Hope she gets over them soon!

Awww to help stop the itching oatmeal baths.
If you will take an old clean sock fill it with Oatmeal tie it in a knot throw it in the bath water. Do not bath them with soap. Let the Oatmeal get all squishy then pat it all over their body. Let them air dry as much as possible in order for as much as the oatmeal to remain on their body. Have them wear loose clothing and stay cool. Believe it or not tried this on my kids after and elderly lady told me about it when they were growing up. And have told many more about it. It does work wonders with the itching. Do this a few times during the day when ever you notice they are itching again. My son was in the first grade when he got them and 3 weeks later my daugher had them. She was around 4 son was 6 |

be glad if u get them as kids. my daughter is 32 and she just had them last month and was sickfor 3 weeks. they r worse as an adult as either get yours kids the booster shots so they never get them or make sure they get them as kids. with adults it can also go to shingles and that is worse and more dangerous.

im a new mom and am curious what age is more likely to get them? if any im sure it most likely just random but still i am curious Age does not matter.. I had them in the 9th grade.. my kids had them when they were toddlers.... and shingles is the adult form of chicken pox.. anyone who has the chicken pox is at risk of getting them when they are older. This tends to affect older people but I have seen a few cases in younger people. |

AWFUL!!! I had them at 22 yrs old! WOW! That can be dangerous!! My daughter had them as a little one, but she ended up with shingles in her teens, was told it was related to the pox as she had a mild session as a child. Weird stuff!! |

im a new mom and am curious what age is more likely to get them? if any im sure it most likely just random but still i am curious There is no certain age but the more they are around other children the more the risk if they haven't had the shot. Many years ago my then 5yo brought it home from school, poor kid had them so bad they were on the soles of his feet, palms and in his mouth. His 6yo brother got them too but the 3yo never has had them, go figure. Hope you daughter gets well soon. |
