So I went to buy gas today and my card was declined.. Well that was strange.. I knew I was kind of broke (I'm in grad school.. it's a poor way of life) but I should have at least some money in my account.
So I get home and check my bank account to see if something went through that I had forgotten about... Not exactly... I have a $155.66 charge from verizon... I don't use verizon.. I've never used verizon... So I talk to my bank and they tell me to talk to verizon. I call up verizon but because I don't have an account there's nothing for them to look up.. And since verizon is a big company with many divisions (landlines, wireless, internet, etc.) they have to try to track down who charged me. Once they track down who charged me, it'll take a couple of weeks to process a refund... So I go back to my bank and file an unauthorized charge form. They'll look into it too. But that will also take a couple of weeks. I'm out $155.66 for a few weeks and have no idea if someone is using my account or if I was charged by mistake.. Everyone is "looking into it" and in the mean time I'm screwed. just had to vent for a minute

Cancel your card and get a new one!

YES CHANGE YOUR CARD FOR I HAD MY IDENITY STOLEN BEFORE JUST FROM NUMBERS OFF OFF ONE CARD AND SOMEHOW THEY GOT AHOLD OF ALL OF MY CARD NUMBERS. MY PHONE NUMBERS CHARGINH CALLS TO CHILI AND OTTHER COUNTRIES IT WAS A MESS SO BE SAFE. FOR IF YOU THINK A COUPLE F WEEKS IS LONG TRY ABOUT A YEAR TO STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT GOOD LUCK

Is this a debit card or a credit charge card? If it's a debit card, one must defer to bank policy. Some will issue temporary credit for a disputed unauthorized debit. If it's a credit card, report it as lost/stolen. New number issued promptly, but still have to wait for a card to physicall use it. |

Verizon is horrible. When I was with them, they always messed my billing up. That sucks you have to deal with them when you're not even a customer.
