i saw one of my moms friends about 3 months ago, and she was in a lot of pain and waiting for a hip replacement, i saw her again the other day and shes had the surgery done, and she looked so much happier, this as got me thinking.

is it better to be in pain, to at least give trying for a baby a go,

OR

be done with it, have it all out, and be pain free??

what would you choose??

endometriosis. all surgery as failed, and theres no options left at all apart from a total hysterectomy.

It depends on how bad you want to have a baby.

very bad, but im single, and as time goes bye, my chances are getting lower, as its spreading everywhere, bladder and bowells so far

im asking this because, ive been told they want me to inject myself with demerol 4 times a day, and go on morphine, and i dont really want to do that, but i have no choice without a hysterecomy.

It's very difficult to conceive when you have endometriosis but not totally impossible. But if you suffer from this I think I would go with the pain free option... good luck on your decision flowerforyou

i know its not impossible, but do i take the chnace and i hope ill get pregnant, but first ive got to meet someone and concieve, which could take years, or go for the hysteretomy now, and be pain free after the surgery

Is it so important for you to be pregnant? Could you go the pain free route and adopt?

Being single today has no bearing on whether on not you can be pregnant and raise your own child.

Debbie you know my story...I have a child so cant tell you how to live your life. Painfree would be my option if I had it as bad as you do.

That would be a tough decision to make. If the chances are good that you can have a child successfully, I would deal with the pain until I conceived a child. But if the chances were slim, I would go ahead and have the surgery and consider adopting or a surrogate mother.

i dont know my chanes, ive just been told i ould get pregnant but it would be harder and theres no guarantees. so your thinking what i am, to stick the pain out, until i at least try for a child.

I would have to agree, especially since you have no idea how long you'd have to suffer or even if you will actually be able to conceive...My heart goes out to you for having to make that decision.

Debbie, my cousin has had endometrosis since she was very young, the pain she endured was horrific. Her only option was also hysterectomy. She endured the pain because she wanted children so badly. She is now 28, has 2 beautiful children and a hysterectomy. The endometriosis was more tolerable between children but then got really bad again. So, hence the hysterectomy. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do....flowerforyou

it all depends on where it is, last time they said my tubes were clear and that was the only part, but time has passed since then, so it could be there now for all i know.

I agree. And if it is that important to you to have a child in your life, there is the option of going ahead and getting pregnant through a sperm donor and raising the child on your own. But then again, you have to consider, do you want to do it that way so you can have child before your condition gets worse, or do you wait out the time to meet someone, fall in love, get married, and then consider having a baby which could as you say less your chances on being able to get pregnant at all?
