Graduated high school in 1969 - now I am really dating myself - worked
in a hamburger joint called "Crazy Erics"
Had burgers for 6 for $1.00 but on occasoin would run specials for 10
for $1.00, and would have people come in an order 40 or 50 burgers at a
time. Had hard ice cream and had to dip it for milk shakes, not the
ready mix stuff like now.

I remember those days.

Grew up in a farming community, used to pick berries in the summers.
Paid 50 centa a flat for strawberrie or a $1 for raspberries and not the
flats like they sell in the stores now, those flats made maybe 3 of the
size they sell in the stores.

The worst job was picking peas, 2 cents a pound, think I lasted maybe 2
days on that one, and said forget it. No money in that.

Remember in 7th grade the teacher was going down the class list asking
our names, "old lady" Hermann (the red headed German) and got to me and
asked me if so and so was my dad, I said yes, she said "well I hope you
don't sleep in my class the way he did. I wanted the floor to open up
and swallow me up. Bad thing about small towns and teachers who hung
around for 30+ years.

Also, one of those towns if the kids got in trouble, the parents knew
about it before the kids got home.

No was too boring, just worked all the time. And I was in Washington
state, clear the other side of the country from woodstock. Our small
school had a few move in from other areas like Seattle, but the locals
didn't get into the "flower child" movement, did have some though that
were into the gothic and flower child thing move in.

Yeah, used to do the drills and tell us to go under our desks, like tha
would make any difference.

Remember all the Japanese movies and propaganda against them.
