Please help do this. Refuse to accept these when they are handed to you. I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead. The lady just smiled and said 'way to go' so she had read this e-mail. Please help out. Our world is in enough trouble without this too!!!!!

What this refers to is the new 1.00 dollar coin being issued. The words "In God We Trust" is omitted.

Me personally...I don't see why it's a big enough deal to warrent needing to refuse the coin? Personally, I'm kinda glad they're coming out with new stuff that isn't so blatently one-sided on the religious aspect and actually showing a true America that includes everyone...not just people of a certain faith. But that's just my own little personal opinion :) To each their own :wink:

Where did you see that at? I just reread the entire article again to make sure I wasn't misinterpreting something, and I didn't see it.

It even shows the pictures of the coin's edge showing "In God We Trust".

I'm a chick, and that was just the first thing that popped out at me? Didn't put any thought into it or evaluate it...was just an observation? I'll remove it as it offended you though. Certainly wasn't my intention.

There. Fixed.

Actually, our government was not based on Christianity, nor in the idea of Christianity. It was based on a humanistic view, which incorporates spirituality but does not encompass any one religion. You forget, one of the basic reasons people came here was freedom to worship and believe as they saw fit and not to have religion, any religion, shoved down their throat. Our forefathers, most of them, happened to be Christian, but they did not design our government based on Christian belief, but on humanity.

Dollar coins are cool but not really useful in the day to day....

I saw the other day a five dolar bill that had the five printed in purple? Well, all I can say is that with my bank card, I rarely have cash or use for it. I miss out on the times, if not for this thread I'd never have known about the coin.

I think I might mistake a dollar coin for a bridge token, based on color. :wink:

MBD..... it is so nice to know I'm not the only persnickety poster around!laugh [poster that wanted your thread moved..... I had a day like that myself!}

as a native american I wasn't given a choice as to what the europeans and other ethnic cultures brought to this country.

what I WAS able to do, was make a decision about how I personally was going to handle it.

The simple answer for me was diversity. To see different cultures as a "gift" and practice tolerence and acceptance WITHOUT compromising my own values.

thats how i became a native american hippiebigsmile

Peace, love and beleif in your own "spirits", "higher power", "god", "alla" and whatever else sustains your faith and hope for the future.

IMHO its all personal preference and HIGHLY individualizedflowerforyou
