 All sentient beings are inherantly provided with survival instincts. I watched a pretty faced wallaby, with both its hind legs broken, still try to get away from a dog that was annoying it. Humans that choose to commit suicide are usually in an altered state, ie; suffering with depression, or other impaired mental function, and are not functioning instinctually. I believe people commit suicide for different reasons. They are afraid to face life. Life to them is worse than death. Death is an escape. It is a withdrawal from life. Some people who are mentally ill, psychotic, depressed, in pain, or experiencing mind numbing fear, have lost hope, or are just plain exhausted of living and totally stressed out. It takes courage to face life and to face your fears. Lots of courage. To chose to do the earth incarnation game takes very courageous spirits. I think everyone probably tries suicide at least once in their many lives lived here. JB |

I am beside myself here James. I confessed that I should have acknowledged the fact that I recognized the definition of perception was too vague when I actually did.
That was all I said. Because it was all that I meant. I have no idea where the rest of your post came from.  First of all, I ignored the errant definition's existence purposefully. It did not matter James. Now you try to tell me what I am thinking and/or saying again???  If awareness was required for perception, as you and JB are attempting to claim, then all things which perceive would also be aware. That is clearly not the case, as I have shown... REPEATEDLY There are numerous things which perceive, but are not aware. All things which are aware, self or otherwise, also perceive. Therefore, awareness comes from perception, not the other way around. That was my intitial claim, and it still is. You are confused, and you and JB have it all backwards... |

If awareness was required for perception, as you and JB are attempting to claim, then all things which perceive would also be aware. I think we have beat this subject to death and I'm bored with it. You still have not redefined your terms. "Perceive" and "Aware." Which I think is where the problem lies here. Creative, if you don't believe in spiritual awareness or that it can exist after the death of the body, or outside or apart from the body, then you are probably an atheist. Why don't you just say so.

Define awareness and perception! The basic premise for these definitions is that reality and everything in it is made up of things that vibrate. Everything vibrates. Everything is vibration and frequency including lights and reflections. Awareness: Awareness is the ability to perceive. (It is not perception itself. It is the ability.) ADDED: ... PERCEIVE: To sense or feel vibrations. If there is nothing to perceive (no vibration~~highly unlikely but possible) it still exists as the ability to perceive any vibration that might arise or the absence of vibration. Perception: Perception is the conscious sensing and interpretation of different vibrations. You must have awareness in order to perceive. You must have awareness in order to sense and interpret vibrations. All of reality is made up of vibrations. JB |

They most certainly perceive, but are not aware. To perceive, the perceiver must be consciously sensing? I find so much trouble equating this to the obvious. What then is the difference between awareness and self-awareness? |
