Christianity is just an excuse for bigoty.

the way you behave it also seems like bigoty just the other way around.
you are smarter.

I think that a homosexual person is a lot more than their sex drive.

I certainly hope so. flowerforyou

I respect you with my heart Spidey.
but this one was over the top my brother.

I agree. I shouldn't have posted that. My apologies all around.

It's ok Spider. I knew what you meant by it. No offense taken.

I'd like to elaborate on that anyway.

I said, "Christianity Creates Bigots".

I didn't say, "All Christians are Bigots".

There's a difference.

I hold that Chrisitanity does indeed create bigots. But it doesn't necessarily have that affect on EVERYONE who becomes a Christian.

But it certainly does have that affect on many people.

They use the religion to justify bigotry.

But Jesus taught not to judge.

So anyone who uses the religion for bigoty is NOT following the teachings of Jesus.

why can't u use this speech always?
this is the James who I respect.

Ok, Miguel.

The only thing that really gets me riled, is when people judge others.

You say that I'm judging the "Christians".

But what am I judging them for? JUDGING OTHERS!!!!

I don't look at Christians, or anyone else and tell them how to live.

The only time I speak out is then they start judging others.

And then what do they do?

They say, "WELL LOOK WHO'S TALKING!!! YOU'RE JUDGING US!!!"

But wait a minute!

What am I judging them for????

JUDGING OTHERS!!!!

The only thing I have against *some* Christians (certinaly not all of them) is the fact that they use their religion to support bigotry (morally judging the behavior of others).

And as soon as I say that. What do they do?

They hide behind the prestence that I'm the one who'd being a bigot by judging them for judging others.

What a crock of bull!

Then be more specific as you are being in this quote.
whenever i post something I always try to make clear that whenever I'm saying something is not about the whole group, just some of them.
your speech is too general, that is why it tends to be inflamatory.

I don't know Miguel,

Sometimes it comes out better. Sometimes not so good.

*waiting in the corner near the door after being totally ignored*

My adopted nephew is gay. I hate homosexuality. It is personally unappealing to me. It is a decision to have sex or not in any form. Most people are not just born that way. It is a personal choice they make.

I still love my nephew. I hate what he does in the way of sexual gratification. I think it is unnatural and wrong really. I understand the desire for love though. I am not a bigot am I? I hate pumpkin pie but I love apple pie. I love men but I don't hate woman because of that. I love my nephew but hate the fact that he has sex with other men. Yuck it makes me sick to think about it. I do not hate homosexuals. I don't believe in what they do sexually is all. It is not my desire.

It sucks when you date someone and find out later they are gay or a transsexual unless of course you are into that sort of thing or tolerant.

This sucks!

I know how you feel. I'm in a similar situation & this society has turned the norms upside down. We hate the sin but still love the sinner. You don't stop loving people because they do what is morally wrong. Especially family.

Still...God promises to restore people to what they are meant to be.

Much of the hatred for homosexuals and abortions comes from people believing that their christian religion tells them that these life decisions are wrong or sinful.

and those are known as fundamentalist christians. I'm absolutely against fundamentalism.
Fundamentalism in both ways christian and non-christian.
YES, because non christians can fall also into fundamentlism. When they don't expose ideas or trains of thought, but hate.

I'm not sure but I think I'm a fundamental Christian. I believe that sin is sin regardless of political correctness, & call it like God sees...I'm not here to please man. We know where that leads.

Having said that, I also don't do anything to diminsh someone elses faith whatever that is in God. God says hate the sin not the sinner. I can speak for myself & other Christians who say that no matter what the sin God promises restoration but God doesn't work on someone who doesn't want to be changed.

I think your assumption about fundamental Christians is media learned & not from personal experience. Now that's what I call bigotry.

can a person be against christianity as a whole, yet not against particular chistians?

if the answer is YES.

can the same concept be applied in other instance such as:

can a person be against homosexuality as a modus vivendi, yet not against particular individuals who choose to be homosexuals? or

can a person be against abortion as a practice, yet not against individual mothers who are faced to such hard decision?

TLW

Society has always dictated what the "norms" would be. At one time restrictions in behavior & self control WERE the "norms" which, BTW, kept people safe & also created an atmosphere were less govt. interferance was neccessary. Our society based its norms on God's word for living and IT WORKED!

Compare that to today were people bash the concept of God & any thought of self control & look what you have... high crimes, abortion run rampant, unwanted pregnancies, children not being educated properly, disease coming back, infidelity & divorce, porn which leads to all sorts of depraved behavior & sex slave trade & children being stolen from their families for sex. Let's not forget drug & alchohal addictions & the drunk driving it costs us in lives.

Let's talk the individual... people need something to hope for even the worst of our society. They need God yet govt. along with the media just keep bashing God so people won't turn to him. People who do are being bashed even though God has delivered & restored people it never gets recognized. After all, govt. along with unbelievers have to justify themselves. Right?

There are many Faith based charities that are helping people all around the world & here in America to get people back on track. Many outreach programs that not only spread the gospel but help feed & clothe & bring medical attention to people who need it the most. We as individuals also help when we come into contact with people every day. We share our faith with co-workers & family etc etc, but I have to say that the level of hostility the media has raised against Christians does make it tough. We really need more boldness to get the message out that Christ saves, delivers & restores.

Now I have a question...do people know you are a Christian?

Why do you believe that a homosexuals sexuality define who he/she is? Sexuality is a characteristic of a person, not the person as a whole.
