If you have any special stuffed animals that used to make you feel better when you were scared, bring them with you. Tell them that this animal helped you and now wants to help the child. Kids love that kind of thing! Just make them feel special and everything will be ok. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes!

Take any extra blankets and make a tent in the living room. Pop some popcorn and play board games or make it so you can see the tv and put a movie on.

with my daughter I always found it helpful to talk about whats happening. Listen for the thunder and rain, talk about what it sounds like. See who can count the most lighting bolts..stuff like that.

Time to make homemade popcorn and pop in a movie, snuggle with blanket and count those seconds between thunder and lightening, and say in unison, "ooooh, aaaaahhh!". flowerforyou

I always used to say that it was the angels bowling... and when they got a strike thats when you saw the lightening.

My step-bro used to play the "Can we make more noise than the storm" game with his daughter. They live in the styx too, so it doesn't bother nE1. Screaming, yelling, pounding pots and pans, slamming doors... Elizabeth (Lil Bit) is now in college, and is a whiz at problem solving..
